Desert Strike: Return to the Gulf, commonly known as Desert Strike, is a shoot 'em up video game released by Electronic Arts (EA) in February 1992 for Sega's Mega Drive. The game was later released on several other formats such as the Game Boy in 1994.

Desert Strike is a shoot 'em up game in which the player pilots an AH-64 Apache helicopter. The game is less frantic than typical shoot 'em ups, with the addition of greater strategic elements. The action takes place on open, multi-directional scrolling levels viewed from an isometric perspective. The player views the action from outside the helicopter, rather than from within the cockpit.

Levels consist of several missions, which are based around the destruction of enemy weapons and installations, as well as rescuing hostages or prisoners of war, or capturing enemy personnel. The Apache is armed with a chain gun, more powerful Hydra rockets and yet more deadly Hellfire missiles. The more powerful the weapon, the fewer can be carried: the player must choose an appropriate weapon for each situation. Enemy weapons range from soldiers with small arms, to anti-aircraft missiles to tanks and armoured cars.

The player's craft has a limited amount of armour, which is depleted as the helicopter is hit by enemy fire. Should the armour reach zero, the craft will be destroyed, losing the player a life. The player must outmanoeuvre enemies to avoid damage, but can replenish armour by means of power-ups or by airlifting rescued friendlies or captives to a landing zone. The helicopter has a finite amount of fuel which is steadily depleted over time. Should the fuel run out the Apache will crash, again costing the player a life. The craft can refuel by collecting fuel barrels: the player must therefore plan mission routes carefully in order to maximise efficiency. The helicopter also carries limited ammunition, which must be replenished by means of ammo crates.

The player encounters an array of enemy hardware, including the Rapier, VDA, ZSU, M48 and Crotale. Enemy soldiers are armed with AK-47s and Aphids.

Not a shoot 'em up in the true sense, as the game applies a healthy dose of real-world military combat, but still lots of of fun nonetheless. The isometric perspective does take some getting used to, though, but once that's done you can sit back and enjoy a truly awesome game.

Urban Strike is the third game in Electronic Arts' Strike series for the SNES, and this time the war will be fought on American soil! Evil media mogul H.R. Malone plans to overthrow the U.S. Government. The Strike C.O.R.E. has learned of the plot and needs you to disable all of his military operations.

The game features over forty missions spanning ten levels in key U.S. cities, such as New York, San Francisco and Las Vegas. Three new vehicles are at your disposal, including the Mohican and Blackhawke assault choppers and Ground Assault Vehicle (GAV). For the first time in a Strike game, you can now journey on foot for certain missions (many of which are timed!) in your campaign to defeat H.R. Malone.

As in previous games in the Strike series, the emphasis is on action as you fly into well-defended combat zones. Nearly everything can be destroyed, which is important since many buildings contain extra fuel, armor and ammo to help you reach your objectives. Cinematic cut-scenes will help explain the story after each level and a map screen will help you plan out your mission in detail.

In a fictional 2001, a millionaire media mogal, former presidential candidate, and fanatic cult leader named H. R. Malone plans on toppling the government using a super weapon he is constructing, and the player must deal with this threat. Like Jungle Strike, Urban Strike starts on a completely different setting than the name suggests, this time all over the North American continent (beginning in Hawaii). The biggest new feature were on-foot missions, where the player was required to leave the helicopter at certain points and enter internal environments armed with a rifle and missile launcher.
