Going...going...gone! At least if you don't stop them, they will be. Those mindless blue- and green-haired rodents, the Lemmings, are off and running through 125 levels of potential mass suicide. It's your job to guide the little critters to safety, preventing them from plunging to their deaths in pits, cracks, and caverns.

The timer runs as you coral the Lemmings to a safe haven, so you should be quick about assigning them specific jobs in order to save some or all of them. There are Lemming climbers, floaters, bombers, blockers, builders, bashers, miners and diggers.

Depending on the type, these mindless, but resourceful rodents can scale steep cliffs, construct bridges, blow holes through obstacles and perform other life-saving tasks. Lemmings who are not currently involved in an assigned task include walkers, jumpers, flippers, wavers and athletes. Athletes can perform multiple skills!

A two-player, split-screen mode is available in which you guide your Lemming}s to the exit while trying to prevent your opponent from achieving the same goal. Other features include four skill levels, passwords for saving your progress and five bonus levels.

Lemmings game is divided into a number of levels, grouped into four difficulty levels. Each level comprises both destructible landscape elements such as rocks, non-destructible sections such as steel plates, and numerous obstacles including chasms, high walls, large drops, pools of water or lava, and booby traps. Each level also includes one or more entrance points and one or more exits. The goal is to guide at least a certain percentage of the green-haired, blue-robed lemmings from the entrance to the exit by clearing or creating a safe passage through the landscape for the lemmings to use. Unless assigned a special task, each lemming will walk in one direction ignoring any other lemming in its way (except "Blockers"), falling off any edges and turning around if they hit an obstacle they cannot pass.

Your task is to rescue the Lemmings across 120 levels of fast-paced puzzling. These creatures simply walk blindly through the world in the hope of reaching safety at the end of the level - unfortunately these levels include steep drops, gaps in the ground, barriers and rivers amongst other hazards.

You are in control not of any individual Lemming, but of a cross-hair, which can be moved over any of the Lemmings. Along the bottom are a selection of functions which can be assigned to a Lemming, including climbing, floating and bashing. You must click to select the appropriate function, then click on the Lemming to activate it. Each level has a different range of skills on offer, a different amount of Lemmings, and a different percentage target in order to progress.

The Lemmings are on the move! These adorable but stupid creatures walk off cliffs, wnader mindlessly into flames and drop like rocks into pools of water. They need you to help them dig, build and blast their way to safety through 120 challenging levels.

Lemmings 2: The Tribes, a computer game released in 1993, is the first real sequel to the popular puzzle game Lemmings.

Once upon a time, the twelve lemming tribes of Lemming Island lived happily and peacefully. However, an ancient prophecy foretells a great darkness soon to consume the land. This prophecy told that the only way the lemmings could survive was by evacuating their island, using the power of the Lemming Talisman. This talisman consisted of twelve pieces, one owned by each tribe. With the help of the Guide that has helped them before (referring to the player in the previous Lemmings game), all lemmings must now reach the center point of their island in order to escape their doom.

There are 61 skills available in the game, although no more than eight are available in each level. Some of the skills are similar to the original ones (like digging and building variants), others are all new (several flying skills, for example).

Each tribe's levels can be started at any time, and progress can be saved from the main menu. The player starts out with 60 lemmings for each tribe, but only one lemming needs to make it to an exit in order to progress to next level. The amount saved will then be the amount left in the next level. As some levels may require several lemmings to complete, the player might have to replay an earlier level to save more lemmings for the following ones if they realize they do not have enough.
