Bubsy is a smart alec bobcat who seems to spend most of his time running around and dealing with the various platform pratfalls and arcade antics that compose his strange little life. Apparently Accolade spent a lot of time and effort developing and promoting what was to be the ultimate Sonic clone. In short, it was overly long in development and overly short in gameplay.

This first game has loads of cheap shots, and the whole point seems to be to see the ultracool death sequences. A sad footnote in the history of Sonic clones.

Bubsy the bobcat comes to the Game Boy in BUBSY II. You take control of Busby as he runs and jumps through a series of levels. As with any cat, Bubsy just can't resist the allure of a ball of yarn. But it's not always playtime; his biggest enemies are not the creatures that inhabit the levels but the seconds that keep ticking away. If you run out time in a particular stage, you will have to try again. See if you can get Bubsy through all of the levels in BUBSY II.

This second game is more balanced than the first and even takes a stab at a pseudo-3D element, but why couldn't Accolade get it right the first time? Oh, yea - gotta make money. A sad footnote in the history of Sonic clones.

The adventures of Accolade's bouncy bobcat continue in this handheld adaptation of Bubsy II on Super NES and Genesis. Bubsy embarks on a nine-level trip across three themed worlds (Egypt, Music, and Aerial) en route to the villainous Oinker B. Hamm. Avoid hazardous objects while gliding down floors to locate an exit before time expires. Bubsy can also fire a Nerf gun to dispatch his animal adversaries.

Across the inky velvet reaches of space lie unknown terrors.. Strange worlds.. and even stranger alien races. There are beings that stretch the very fabric of reality. Beings like the Woolies whose unbridled lust for yarn is legendary across the galaxies, and no Wollie is more greedy for the furry fiber then the twin queens of Rayon, Poly, and Ester.
The wildly wicked Woolies could not resist this chance to steal wool. They knit their plans carefully, and soon the very fabric of space was being warped by their dreaded saucers of silk. The Woolies had chosen to invade the space of one purr-fectly fur-ocious feline. A bobcat ready, wooling and able to defend the rights of the downtrodden...smite the evil doers.. and to generally act in a heroic and politically correct manner. Well, it could happen, and so the nefarious, nasty, no account Wollies proceeded to clean Bubsy's clock. The Woolies swiftly made a sucker out of Bubsy, and in mind numbing succession he was first rejected.. then ejected. The Woolies unprovoked attack opened Bubsy's eyes, and so begins the spell-binding, fast-paced, nail-biting, action packed blockbuster. Claws encounters of the furred kind.

Only Bubsy can protect the world's kids from these silly stories and tangled-up tales as he leaps and bounds his way through 15 frantic chapters of fabulous furry fun. In Fairytaleland, Bubsy attends a twisted tea party, climbs a giant beanstalk, voyages under the sea (without getting his paws wet), head to Ali Baba's desert and even meets Hansel and Gretel, who should be up on kidnapping charges.
