Aliens: Thanatos Encounter is a top-down action game taking its main inspiration from the second film in the Alien franchise.

Story:
A platoon of Colonial Marines, en route to Earth from a training mission, are awakened from hypersleep by a distress signal from the space freighter Thanatos. Ordered to board the massive ship and investigate the situation, they find themselves inside a nightmare: a massive infestation of xenomorphs.

Gameplay:
Before each level, the player can choose from five different characters, all with unique stats such as health and stamina. If a character runs out of health, they don't actually die. Instead, they are captured for egg insemination. Like in TMNT for the NES, you can rescue your captured team mates. However you only have 200 seconds to do so before they are permanently taken off your roster.
Weapons include a standard-issue pistol, there are shotguns, pulse rifles, flame throwers, grenade launchers and smartguns to be found in the levels. Available from the start is the motion tracker radar, displaying both human survivors as well as hostile aliens.

Army Men is an Action game, developed by Digital Eclipse and published by 3DO, which was released in 2000. It is the first game of the series originally released for PC, then was later ported to Game Boy Color.

Two features that make this game almost unique in the series are its storytelling (Black and white spoofs of World War II-style newsreels), and the fact that it often depicts fighting that doesn't involve the main characters. Many fans of the series as well as reviewers rate this game the highest.

It's twenty years after the end of the Vietnam War. Your mission, should you decide to accept it, is to venture forth once again on the Ho Chi Minh trail and try to rescue some of the downed American airmen left behind.

Okay, so it's an Ikari Warriors clone. At least it's a good one, and in some ways betters its inspiration.

Cannon Fodder had previously been a hit on the Amiga platform before being ported to Dos by Virgin Interactive, who licensed it from Sensible Software. This cute little real-time wargame involves the player trying to complete a series of missions using a squad of hapless recruits. In order to finish each mission, you have to complete several objectives, most often the destruction of key enemy objects.

Rather than opt for a traditional wargaming approach, Cannon Fodder included action elements, as the player actually controls the firing of his/her troops. The general premise of the game involved you directly controlling a platoon of four soldiers, commanding them to walk around and blasting at any enemies that got in your way. In addition to standard gunfire, your troops can also make use of rockets, missiles, etc to clear out enemy forces.

The game was released to the European public at full price, and finally made it to the USA a few years later as a budget title. Thus American gamers didn't pay the product much attention, which is a shame since it's one of the best action/strategy hybrids of the early 90s.

Several levels await your super-tough Commando in this arcade conversion. Armed with only a standard rifle and a few grenades you must take on hordes of Nazis. Some are wandering around in the open, while others have picked out hiding places, which you must approach from certain angles. Trees, rivers and bridges create a varied combat-like terrain and must be incorporated into your thinking. Extra grenades can be collected, and will definitely be required, as they allow you to kill form distance and thus avoid some enemy shots.

An abstract arcade game in which a single player takes on the role of a firefighter, who must climb a burning building rescuing the people and animals who are trapped inside. As well as the fires, the firefighter must also avoid or deflect (the latter with his extinguisher) a number of falling objects and debris, including cars, couches, hammers, chairs, lamps, stoves and refrigerators.

Fire Trap is very similar, gameplay-wise, to Nichibutsu's 1980 classic, ''Crazy Climber''. As the firefighter climbs the building, he must use his fire extinguisher to put out the fires which include burning papers, flame-gushing windows and moving fireballs. The fire extinguisher contains only a limited amount of water, so must be used it wisely. Certain extinguished fires, however, reveal cannisters of extinguisher fuel to be collected. Other extinguished fires reveal bonuses and, very occasionally, springboards; which shoot the player higher up the skyscraper.

The firefighter's ultimate aim is to reach the roof of the skyscraper and rescue a young woman who is trapped there. As the firefighter reaches the roof, a giant fireball appears and circles the tower; this must be either avoided or extinguished. After the firefighter has rescued the woman, he must fly down the building with his jet pack and extinguish any fires remaining on the building; before finally landing safely on the ground. The firefighter will then move on to another burning building to make another rescue attempt.

The Firemen is a game where the player controls Pete, the fire fighter. Your equipment consists of a limited number of very powerful "water bombs" and a fire extinguisher with unlimited ammo. You have two settings for your extinguisher; a steady stream to extinguish fires from a safe distance and a more powerful but extremely short ranged spray a few steps in front of Pete.
Together with your axe wielding partner, your mission is to rescue the people inside a burning building and also put out as much of the fire as you can. Each time you rescue a person, they tell you about any people that may be trapped nearby. Also, be sure to listen to every word your squadmate tells you, or you may be toast.
