Back in the early 90's every gamer knows the iconic war between Sega's Genesis
and Nintendo's SNES. Nintendo may have won in sales, but the Genesis still had
an amazing line-up of titles. But which 20 can be called the best?

Personally, I didn't expect my favorite Genesis game, Strider, to even make this list.
And I'm glad my first Castlevania, Bloodlines, made the list as well.

I always thought Altered Beast was lame.

Also, where the heck is ToeJam and Earl? To this day that game is one of my favorite co op experiences. I also thing Wonder Boy in Monster World would be on everyone's Genesis list had anyone ever played it.

Dick Tracy is also an under-appreciated Genesis title.

And Aladdin. Man, my list would be totally different from this one.

I never owned a Genisis, but my buddies all had one. So I would just swap my SNES with one of them for a bit. I liked Toejam and Earl, and Streets of Rage.

I added links to the games in the first post. Can someone else do that for all the other Screw Attack lists.

@TMT. I agree. Altered Beast shouldn't even be on a top 200 list. It would be like calling Duck Hunt one of the best NES game just because it came with the system.

Toe Jam was one of the most popular and original Genesis games.

Monsterland is a a top 5 SMS game but also should probably be on the top 20 Genesis.

Buck Rodgers is one of the best 16 bit RPGs ever.

Shining Force 2 is way better than 1.

Pirates Gold and ToeJam and Earl are better than the entire list, imo.

Well Kid Chameleon was original. SF has been done to death and ported to pretty much every system. That's good enough reason to me.

Kid Chameleon is a good game. One of the best Run and Jumps on the Genesis.

Has screw attack made a list yet that anyone thought was perfect? You shouldn't expect them to ever please everyone but it would be nice if at least one person agreed with them once.

On the poll I voted none of the above. If I had to pick my absolute favorite Genesis game it would either be ToeJam and Earl, Wonder Boy in Monster World or Comix Zone. But there are a LOT of great Genesis games.

my comments:
Phantasy star 4 was alot better to me, and Sparkster genesis just rocked compared to rocket knight as far as Ive played. also liked shado dancer more than shinobi 3.. but yeah teh list was okay. I agree wth everyone that toe jam shoudl have been up there. liked altered beast though, mostly cause you could cheat and pic monsters for the stages.. I liked the dragon form^^ hehe.

But hell yeah.. STRIDER! I cant call it the ultimate best.. but yeah strider is awesome.

Though since we are here, I figure I should add my two cents worth, more because my opinion is worth more than that, but that's another discussion entirely.

ToeJam and Earl is the greatest Sega Genesis game.
Followed by Castlevania Bloodlines.
Then Comix Zone.
After that, Gunstar Heroes, and beyond that one, I really don't have any specific preference, the other games are either good on the same level or bad on the same level.
