Team Contest IV - Tournament I

There will be 7 tournaments.
Each team will enter one person into each tournament.
The winner of each tournament advances to a final tournament.
Winner of the final tournament wins the contest for their team.
Each team has until 12 noon PST, Wednesday, May 13th, to submit 2 games that are high score enabled and can not be farmed or cheated.
If you fail to meet the deadline I will pick the games for you.
The site mods will pick one of those 8 games (the one we think will be most fun and competitive) to be the final tournament game.
The other 7 games will be the first round tournament games.
Each tournament will last 3 rounds.
Each round will last up to one week. Less if everyone submits early.
The first 7 tournaments will run simultaneously.
The last tournament will start after the first seven are finished.

Bonus Game

Each team will also submit 1 bonus game that is not high score enabled by 12 noon PST May 13th.
If you fail to meet the deadline then your team will not submit a bonus game and we will continue with one less game.
You may specify the play modes that are available and if save states are allowed or not. Keep in mind some play modes can not enable or disable save states.
The team that beats the most bonus games by the time the first 7 tournaments are over will receive a free extra spot in the final tournament.
Prove you beat the games by posting a movie (or screenshot if movie is not possible) of the ending.
If more than one team ties (beats the same number of bonus games) then the tie breaker will the high score in the Dice game.

Including the week to pick games you will have up to 4 weeks to finish the bonus games and up to 7 weeks to complete the entire contest. Less if everyone is quick.

Step 1. the team captains need to tell me the 3 games (2 non-farm highscore enabled games and one non-highscore game) they are choosing by 12 Noon PST Tuesday May 12, 2009. You can post here or PM me.
Step 2. Each team needs to buy 7 contest tickets and give them to me by 12 Noon PST Tuesday May 19, 2009. It does not matter who gives them to me as long as each team gives 7.
Step 3. Check in on May 12th for further instructions. I will post 7 games and you will have one week to determine who will compete in each one.

Donkey Kong » Nintendo
Granada » Genesis
Snow Bros - Nick and Tom » Genesis
Super Earth Defense Force » Super Nintendo
My House Is Bigger Than Your House » Flash

The winner of the first 7 tournaments will enter the final tournament
Balloon Fight » Nintendo
The Balloon Fight winner will win the whole contest.

Bonus games
Street Fighter II Turbo Hyper Fighting » Super Nintendo - Score Mode, turbo mode, beat with all 12 characters.

When you are to the end click the submit score button. You will have to start over and play 12 times and submit 12 screens.

Any special rules? If you do not answer within 24 hours then I will let another team answer for you.

Maniac Mansion » Nintendo - Full Mode.
Somebody from VB explain what the ending will look like.
You can press F8 to record a movie of the end.

The team that completes the most bonus games or all of the bonus games first gets a free entry to the final tournament.

I will post the tournaments later today or tomorrow. You will have until next Tuesday at noon to enter one person in each of the first 7 tournaments.

atleast I think I did it still shows I have 7 but it said I sent them...

I got them. I see some other bought them but I haven't received them yet. Only MM has sent them to me. No rush you have 9 days.

One person from each team is sending these. Next time instead of requiring 7 individual tickets should I have 1 team ticket that cost 7 times as much.

To me it makes more sense to have the captains or an R.U. veteran submit these to you because of the loss of experience points. If it temporarily drops me from level 32 to 31 it's not as big a deal as if someone else bought these and dropped from level 10 to level 8 to buy a bunch of tickets. I suppose when we get the process rolling, we might be able to get each team member to buy their way into the contest, but it just made more sense to me to buy them for the team this time around.

By the way, have all the tournament glitches been ironed out? I know there were some problems before.

I will have to manually tweak them as we go. During the middle some tournament info may be displayed incorrectly but it will be correct by the end.
