Re: Role Playing Games - RPG
LTTP isn't an RPG because there isn't a leveling system.

Re: Role Playing Games - RPG
Yeah we've had that debate before Laserboy but most people still consider it an RPG so it's good to include it for completeness.

Re: RPG - Role Playing and Adventure Games
I changed thread title name to include Adventure games too. After the list is complete I will separate them into adventure and RPG.
Don't forget, you can post games I missed and I will add them to the master list. I haven't even touched NES or GB yet.

Re: RPG - Role Playing and Adventure Games
fyi, secret of mana is on this list twice, they are stealing votes from each other. and should loz:lttp really be on this list...i thought that was an action/adventure game and not an rpg.

Re: RPG - Role Playing and Adventure Games
We already discussed LTTP a few posts up. I agree it shouldn't be on a list of RPGs but I still think it should be included since most people consider it an RPG. Contradictions abound!

Re: RPG - Role Playing and Adventure Games
yeah, thanks for the heads up, missed the previous post somehow.
well, if zelda is there, that means you basically need to add every game with an inventory system to the rpg list. everything from super metroid to resident evil.

Re: RPG - Role Playing and Adventure Games
Zelda II is the only Zelda RPG.
It should be replaced with Final Fantasy V.
The 2nd (behind VIII) most customizable title.

Re: RPG - Role Playing and Adventure Games
For the Super Nintendo, Shin Megami Tensei (and SMT II) are both missing from this list. They were great titles, and I think people should look into them

Just about anything in the Megami Tensei universe is good with me. From Megami Tensei for the Famicom, to Devil Summoner on the Saturn. Don't forget the Persona games, or the games for the DS. The best of all of them in my opinion is Persona 2: Innocent Sin (the one that didn't make it to North America). I do like the Shin Megami Tensei games for the SNES.

Re: RPG - Role Playing and Adventure Games
hard choice... but in the end had to go for FFIII (VI in real numbers) because (and this will remind you of Tenser) it had KEFKA.

Re: RPG - Role Playing and Adventure Games
I found this game the other night. Gave it a quick go, and really liked it. Figured I would post it up just in case anyone wants to give it a go. From the little I played this is a great gem. It kinda reminds me of Landstalker without the camera angles.
