do you love your car?

i know i do, tell us about your vehicle and what makes it special, any modifications or if you dont have a car what would you like (realistically please no exotics i.e. ferrari, lamborgini etc.)
my fiancée bought me a 1998 camaro (my favorite year model). I want to take out the v6 and install a chevy 305 small block v8 with a flowmaster exaust system. The v6 just sounds too wimpy for a big ass car like that, plus i would rather change the engine instead of fixing the oilpump and finding what rod is knocking, we grounded it after oil started leaking really heavily and we are using it for temporary parts for her 1992 camaro (were starting a camaro collection)

Just my opinion. I don't think it has anything to do with a "good ol' boys" mentality. I know you're just busting my chops but a man needs himself a workhorse.

It should also be noted that in my neck of the woods without some sort of four wheel drive, all wheel drive, positraction, etc... you simply aren't going anywhere in the winter. I live in a mountain range directly west of the world's largest lakes.

I'm pretty sure that if we all lived in your neck of the woods, we would all drive a "workhorse" like you say Tenser. But since most of us drive on pavement and not mud and snow and dodging wild animals, so we can afford to drive our negative traction sedans and small vehicles. I would like to have a Jeep Wrangler though.

I would definitely like to have one at times, there was a big screen tv on the side of the road 2 days ago it was older but huge, something like this:

Meh, it's not just that. What do you do when you have to take crap to the junk yard, dump, brush yard? Are you going to borrow or rent a truck every time you need to move something bigger than a desk chair?

Everyone's free to do what they want but unless you're some kind of nancy who even pays people to change your oil for you it just seems too impractical.

I hear ya, but hauling stuff to the dump, and clearing out brush is not something I ever need to do considering I live on the 3rd floor in an apartment complex. Just hauling furniture and stuff would be all I'd use it for, and not very often. If I ever get my own place outside of town I will definetly consider picking up a junker.

It's deffinately essential for a home owner. I love my truck, scratches, dents and all, they give it character.

She got "bumped" twice. Once I was rear ended while waiting for a red light by a women in a Malibu. Malibu was destroyed with her engine ended up on her lap while my rear bumper got slight bent downwards by about 5-10 degrees. Second time was when two cars in front of my decided to practice their sychronized swimming routine on a snowy road. Resulted in a tiny dent to the front bumper.

That picture isn't mine but the exact model as mine. For the curious: 5.4 liter 3-valve V8 with 300 horses and 365 torque.

That's why I have my GMC pick up truck. It's not the biggest one out there, but I've managed to move all my stuff from the tip of Texas all the way to Houston, a 5 hour drive, and back without a problem. I'm with you about those nancy boys that pay for an oil change or don't even know how to change the spark plugs. I know a guy who can't even change his tires! But hey, it's their problem not mine.

I know there's an old thread around here somewhere on this, but anyway I've got a '74 Thing, slightly modified the interior(extra gauges, rubber instead of carpet, nothing to fancy), with a 1600cc engine(it's small, but then again, the car is light, about 100 cid) it has been bored out slightly, and a couple of other small tweaks, but I like it.
