Falling Dragon: Double Dragon's Years of Decline

Through the 1980s and the early half of the '90s, gamers kept company with Billy and Jimmy Lee, also known as the Double Dragon brothers, on every console imaginable. We took up arms in the form of baseball bats, chains, dynamite, knives, or just our bloody, bare knuckles. We beat down any thugs who dared to impede our journey from the left side of the screen to the right side.

But even dragons can't fly forever. As the '90s wore on, our childhood gaming mascots either thrived on the Super Nintendo and Sega Genesis, or they faded from favor. The Lee boys fell into the latter category, though there was no one circumstance that contributed to their early retirement. A combination of bad luck, strange marketing decisions, shoddy merchandising, and the death of Technos ultimately clipped the Dragons' wings.

Double Dragon was the first game I ever beat in the arcade, me, my buddy and his brother round robbined through 10 bucks of quarters each, at the end I had one quarter left and they had none, I put my last quarter into Gauntlet, and died quickly... that was a good day.

Yeah it's too bad that DD died out like that. I wonder if they would have survived had they made it into a sort of RPG but with the same side fighting format. Beat up the thugs and take their money. At the end of a level you could go to the store and buy a baseball bat, some energy drinks and maybe a burger combo. More weapons and moves would have been more than welcomed aswell.

It would be amazing if some company decided to try to bring Double Dragon into 3d. I doubt it would work however.

I don't follow these kinds of games but I am pretty sure they've been done in 3D. What about DieHard? That game seems a lot like DD to me and it's 3Dish.

That was the only example I could think of atm because I'm not really into that game type. I know there has to be other games similar to DD but in 3D.
