I have to add that my favourite series of games would have to be the sonic franchise. I could not tell you the countless hours i've played sonic games.

Assuming 10 years ago is Retro, than I'd say Resident Evil 3.

Assuming 20 years is Retro, than definitely SOS. I don't know why, but I friggin love that game.

is there a set in stone definition on what is retro? is it years? console generations? age of the user? that defines what is retro.

I am going to guess that PS1 is retro, so I would pick either Metal Gear Solid or Castlevania: Symphony of the Night.

If PS1 isn't considered retro, I would go for Punch Out.

Well, I'd like to satisfy a multitude of definitions, rather than decide on the one labeling.

I agree, this is one subject where the definition is subjective. To someone born in 2000, the games I grew up on in the 1990s could be considered retro, or even the games they missed from the early 2000s, while to someone born in the 1960s might not see anything past 1980 as retro, thus making no video games retro.

There were video games before the 1980s you know. How do you think we would have had a video game crash if they weren't invented?

I dont know. I consider even the sega saturn retro. So i think it all depends on your own persective. Some on ly consider coin-op retro while others consider games farther up the time line. My very first system was an Atari 2600. So I think that all depends on whom you ask.

Because there were too many people trying to get into the game, and there were too many crap games crowding real potential. People lost interest.

Exactly, most of the games weren't all that great, so they faded out of memory, at least the memory of most people.
