Most likely my last review before I head to Arizona for vacation.

After escaping near death at the hands of the Covenant Armada above the planet
of Reach, the UNSC capital ship "Pillar of Autumn" has stumbled upon a strange
ringed world the covenant call "Halo".
The sole Spartan, super human cyborgs designed to be the ultimate soliders, John-
117 or the Master Chief as he and Cortana, his AI companion, are sent off the
Autumn by Comander Jacob Keyes to avoid Covenant capture.
After landing on the ring world, both Master Chief and Cortana soon learn it's
become a battle for the survival of the human race.
Gameplay:
The gameplay is where Halo has always exceeded.
Master Chief has two meters, a shield bar and a life bar, his shield bar will
regenerate over time, but health must be replenished via a health pack.
There are two main sets of weaponry, Plasma and UNSC weaponry. The Plasma
weaponry, while effective against shields, they do lack luster damage against
health, while UNSC weaponry are the opposite, requiring players to balance out
their weapons set to benefit their game. The guns are very well balanced (except
for the pistol) allowing for very smooth gameplay and fast paced multiplayer.
In addition to a wide selection of guns, Halo recieved a nice array of vehicles to
choose from; the speedy Ghost can be deadly to looming soliders but is open to
attacks from many sides and the Warthog, the staple vehicle of the series, is a 3
seater perfect for attacks on the enemy base.
Halo offers a multitude of modes which are very diverse and easily enjoyable:
Slayer has individuals pitted out to eliminate opponents, Capture the Flag has
teams retriving flags from the enemy and returning it to home base, Oddball has
players controling the skull for the longest to achieve victory, Assualt is a reverse
Capture the Flag and Race has players traveling from checkpoint to checkpoint the
fastest.
Graphics:
Unlike Halo 2 and 3 which looked beautiful for their time, Halo wasn't upto par
with games at the time. Suome N64 games such as Perfect Dark or Conkers Bad
Fur day looked superior to the Xbox launch title.
Sound:
Halo has a rich orchestral soundtrack that is classic that easily set the mode of this rich title.
A Walk in the Woods:
Covenant Dance:
Devils... Monsters... (Flood Theme):
Main Theme:
Challenge:
On the normal and easy settings, the game doesn't get to hard or easy, but on
higher difficulties, it becomes a fight for survival.
Overall:
Halo: Combat Evolved is a brilliant First-Person Shooter that still has a stong
following to this day and it spawned Machinima, movies made from within games
such as Red vs. Blue:
