I hate reality shows. The only one I like is Top Chef.

The rest are nothing but low budget soap operas. As someone once said, once a program goes through the editing process, there is no such thing as "reality television". Editing will always skew the public's perception in whatever direction the networks choose, thus destroying the entire concept.

It comes down to money really. Minimal investment on the part of the networks (unpaid actors) nets maximimum profits. It's no surprise that everyone has shifted their programming in this direction.

I usually have 400+ channels of nothing. I just don't understand why people are eating this garbage up. Shows like "Survivor" are game shows. Ridiculously in-depth game shows that have no semblance of reality whatsoever. Then there's "Jon and Kate", which seems to chronicle the life of a bunch of jackasses.

I can watch shows like "Cops" and "Deadliest Catch", but that's about it for reality shows.

I think one of the things that kill me most is that these "people" become more popular after the show is over. If I have to see either Jon or Kate on anything again, I'll have to grab a bat to my television. They are famous for totally pimping their children and the masses can't wait to see the dumpster fire increase. I guess it's similar to a car accident, where you want to see what happens.

But that is the way it goes I suppose. Can someone tell me what Paris Hilton is famous for that makes magazines go ga-ga over (let's keep these responses PG-13)? Can someone please inform these people that there 15 minutes of fame have long been past so the rest of the normal population can move on?

+1 for Deadliest Catch. Best reality show on television, hands down.

You don't know what you're missing, Jersey shore is hilarious. I know it's mostly staged but you can't fake that level of failure. Those idiots think people like them for who they are

To be fair the guy third from the left seems like a nice guy. I think most of their bs is staged. That being said I'm sure they're more douchey than most guys.

The worst part of the show is the girls. It's also staged but they are proud to be slutty worthless pieces of human trash. This is not a good message to send to young girls.
