Post-storm Pictures

I took some pictures during/after the big ice storm. I though they were worth sharing, this one in particular I thought was funny.

If you can't read the sign, it says "Free Firewood." I got a kick out of that.

Well, pictures like that make me glad that i live in South Florida, I just wish we didn't have so many Heat waves and Hurricanes tho.

No you don't. It was awful. Almost the entire city was out of power. It isn't fun sleeping in a powerless house with no heat when it is 5 degrees outside.

Ok, but tell me this TMT witch 1 would you have 8 hurricanes in a 2 year span where you have to sleep when it's 98 degrees with no AC for 2 weeks after every hurricane or your ice storm?

If the worst part of the hurricanes is sleeping in 98 degree weather, I'll take the hurricanes any day.

I much prefer warm weather to cold.

Of course, I would elect for neither.

Yeah, take hurricanes over an ice storm and have your house deystored by an Hurricane. But it's your choice. NOTE: I never had my house deystored by a Hurricane

I live in North Dakota. The temperature drop to about 30 below 0. When you had your ice storm, we were going through temps that were getting to -40. If you have exposed skin in that temp. you will get frostbite within a couple of minutes. It has been known to get 60 below.

Ok, i think we should put a pole in this thread to ask and see witch one you rather have an major ice storm or an major hurricane

Yeah and a huge frozen tree crashing into your bedroom would do the trick, too.

It's hard to compare the two disasters. Hurricanes are know to hit where that do, it's not like there is an "Ice storm season". If you don't like the idea of hurricanes coming into town, then move inland...

I think your missing the point. TMT wanted to share what he and others in the area were going through, not debate if a hurricane is more bearable then an ice storm.

That wasn't the question. You asked if I would rather have my ice storm or sleep with no AC in 98 degree weather.

And I mostly just wanted to post my "Free Firewood" picture because it made me giggle, and then I went ahead and threw some more pictures in the thread. I wasn't bit... complaining about my conditions. I'm pretty lucky I have power at this point.

And as Coz said, a tree through the ceiling of your bedroom would certainly do the trick

Edit: Nice pictures J. Looks to me like Calvin from Calvin and Hobbes is all grown up and has matured his crazy snowmen.

Yeah, you guys are right. I got worked up about the Hurricane vs Ice Storm debate. But the free firewood pic was kinda funny, but jeckel's pics was the funniest, even tho i've seen them before.
