Game you spent the longest time playing
This I will never ever forget
It was the summer of 2001, I still had my SNES mind you and I was itching to beat the game Illusion of Gaia, I invited 2 of my best friends over to ply and we stayed up 2 nights in a row just playing, man was it fun, sure my mother was nagging me but hell, it was worthwhile because eventually we did beat the game and it was all the Pepsi and sugar and Chinese food that kept us going and then afterward they all went home and I slept like a baby. Illusion of Gaia is addicting, its one of my favorite games of all time, that and Super Mario RPG also I stayed up actually with my mom half the night when I was younger playing that game. Man I feel old talking about this.

probably perfect dark, me and my brothers played that so much, bet you I logged in 1000 + hours into that thing.
Top gear 3000 is probably at about 300 + hours.

Re: Game you spent the longest time playing
well, every game in the series is great, some people will suggest that dragon warrior 1 isnt good but i like it. (north america: dragon warrior, japan: dragon quest up until part 8, then it became quest everywhere)
the games are a little simpler than most other rpg's, weapons, armour, items and magic make up the game in a nutshell. no materia, no espers, and your magic is learned automatically once you reach a certain level - pretty basic.
the series is great because of the world you explore, all the charaters you run into in villages and monsters are instant classics. and the graphics are ever so charming.
the quality of the games are great in every facet.

Double Dragon 2 - The Revenge. Spent all summer trying to beat it in 2007 and finally did. ^_^ Now can beat it with ease.

Re: Game you spent the longest time playing
Overall: TimeSplitters 2. I put way too much time into that game. I never get sick of wasting gingerbread men with miniguns.
In one session: I used to have marathon sessions playing the original Smash Bros. I remember finally unlocking Captain Falcon at 4 AM, after playing all night with my friend.

Re: Game you spent the longest time playing
I hate to admit it but I've played FFXI more than any other game. Besides mmos the game I played the most is probably Final Fantast Tactics or Romance of the Three Kingdoms(snes, 2 I think?)

Re: Game you spent the longest time playing
Most time collectively: Monster Hunter. About 300 hours clocked.
Longest session: Maybe Pokemon Yellow when I first got it? Or maybe Monster Rancher 2 with one of my friends, switching off watching each other raise and fight monsters and finding new CDs to try. What a great game.

Re: Game you spent the longest time playing
I'm really into Oddworld: strangers wrath now on xbox, it's an amazing game.
I've clocked many, many hours into TS3 & TS2, except it's dinosaurs I pick on and not gingerbread men.

Re: Game you spent the longest time playing
Hard to say. It would be something from when I was a teenager. I used to have 3 day gaming sessions when I was 12ish. Me and a friend would rent 2 games and take turns playing/sleeping over the weekend. We beat both games nearly every time. I remember playing Ys for SMS for a couple days with almost no breaks. Though there were several others.
I played Wonderboy in Mosterland a whole bunch when I was about 10-12. I owned it but had trouble mastering it. It takes probably 2 hours to beat and if you die you start over. I've beat Buck Rodgers, Shining Force, The Immortal and Out of This World multiple times and those are all long games.
I owned Star Flight when I was a teenager and it is an epic game that goes on forever. I put a lot of hours into it but it came at the tail end of my teenage gaming addiction.

Re: Game you spent the longest time playing
My memory of it is very fuzzy and I have a hard time keeping Star Control and Star Flight separate in my head but I think you can save the universe and then continue playing forever and play side quests.

Re: Game you spent the longest time playing
My memory is kinda fuzzy too but I believe Star Control was the never ending one(or close to it). I know for sure starflight had a "save the universe or die" kind of plot. If you didn't figure out how to beat it by a certain time it just ended. Maybe things changed once you beat it but I don't remember that.
Btw Star Control is one game I wanted to spend a lot of time on but couldn't. I never owned a 3DO but my friend had one. Until one day when someone put glue in the disc tray and ruined it. It was a sad day I tell you what.

This game was probably the first that had the most replay value for me besides blaster master. I remember trying to figure out the last dungeon without having the bell to tell me where to go. Once I figured out how to get that bell thingy it was all good. I later discovered the pause trick to get money.
Never was able to beat Out of this world but the game blew me away at the time. I only discovered there was sequel only a year ago.
I got back into gamming after a girlfriend bought me an Xbox 360 when they first came out. Then I downloaded the demo of farcry when it was available. This was the first real online expereince I had and I have to say it was awesome. The graphics were original xbox-ish but being able to make and play your own maps were incredible. (before that was doom I think but it wasn't the same calibre without voice chat and the graphics were really subpar)
Now shadowrun is really the only game I play for xbox and I've logged in way too many hours on that thing. (even brought a tv and the xbox to work when I had an internet connection)

Re: Game you spent the longest time playing
That game sounds interesting DB & kong, I may check it out if I ever get a 3DO, the pawn shop has a console, but no controller...
Edit: my gosh kong! did you have like a part time job when you were 12? 3DO's were like 700 bucks.

Re: Game you spent the longest time playing
I put in 100+ hours playing Final Fantasy II for the SNES. I got every item and leveled up everyone to lvl.99. The final boss was easy at that level. HAHA!

Re: Game you spent the longest time playing
Goldeneye in my opinion next to SSB was the best game on the N64 also next to WWF No Mercy of course
