Xbox repair blues.

So. Guess what? i had E74. guess what else? every xbox arcade game i bought no longer works after repair. guess what else? i sent messages but they keep saying i have E74, when i make it clear i have been repaired. any suggestions? this is getting annoying.

I think the best thing you can do is call microsoft support and talk to a real person. If they don't have answers for you then ask for someone higher up. You could also try the xbox forums but they'll probably tell you the same thing.

Have you had your Xbox long?

I dont know if its the same in the US but over here in the UK you get about a years garanntee with most electrical items, which means if they brake the can be fixed or replaced for free.

My 360 was an elite. I bought it in the russia on the cheap, so i had to do something special to get it repaired. it works one hundred percent fine. the games saved on the hard drive aren't working.

Yeah you're most likely screwed then. Just fork over the 199.99 and get the cheap 360, transfer over your content see if that works.

hmm I think I might know a possible answer to this conundrum, but I can't say for sure without knowing more about your situation.

When you download content from the xbox live marketplace it registers that content to the Xbox console that downloaded it (*Not hard drive, the xbox itself.) and to the gamer tag that downloaded it originally. This means that addintional profiles on an xbox with say a map pack for CoD4 would have acces to that map pack. However if you were given a new xbox instead of having your previous one repaired (They replace consoles quite frequently rather than repairing them.) Only the account that downloaded them, would have acces.

EX: (For this example we will lable them GT1 (Gamertag 1) GT2, C1 (Console 1) and C2.

GT1 downloads DLC on C1 --> GT2 has acces to DLC on C1
Replace C1 with C2, Hardrive stays the same.
GT1 continues to use DLC on C2 --> GT2 has no access to DLC on C2

all i can suggest is that your hard drive has failed somehow. Do you have a friends you can borrow to see if you can upload your gamertag to get your arcade games? Just to check if it is the hard drive...

if you replaced your drive already you can go to you tube and it will tell you how to "flash" your drive....this will enable you to play your downloaded games for free....I replaced my drive with a drive from ebay for $15 us dollars... good luck with this
