Music Lovers

Well, I figured I would start a new thread here and see what kind of music people are into. Feel free to post any songs here as well. I like Blink 182, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Creed, Green Day, Kenny Chesney, Toby Keith, Rascal Flatts. I mainly listen to country, but I also listen to just about anything else.

Overall, I'm a fan of anything that sounds good. In general though, I tend to shy away from Country and Rap/Hip-Hop as they usually don't pique my interest. To narrow it down even further, I enjoy mostly Alternative Rock and Techno/Electronica...and most things that come out of Japan. :mrgreen:

As for specific musicians/bands that I like, I guess I can name a few:
Live, Metallica, Green Day, Nickelback, Disturbed, Linkin Park, Breaking Benjamins, Sevendust, Trapt, Bloodhound Gang, Tenacious D, DJ Rap, t.a.t.u., Weird Al, Hirasawa Susumu, m.o.v.e., Yoko Kanno, E-Rotic, Groove Coverage, etc...

Tenser, you have my favorite list so far that isn't my own. Do you like Gnarls Barkley?

Edit: Also, I saw Tom Petty live. Stevie Nicks also showed up on stage and sang with him. It was a great show.

Metalica fans should check out Apocaliptica.

Blood Hound Gang and Tenasious D are great - very funny stuff.

I hate the genre that Folk Implosion fits into. But I like them.

I don't like techno but two very good techno bands are Infected Mushroom and Sphongle. The second is not 100% techno.

But I mainly listen to audio books or silence.

All great. I typically always have my tv on MTV, MTV 2, VH1, Fuse, CMT, or GAC.

I listen to just about anything except for most country (that early twangy stuff just hits the wrong nerve, some of the newer stuff is OK). I have been on an 80's kick lately (mainly the one-hit wonders of the time period). But when I'm tired of that usually the Chili Peppers, Beastie Boys, Gorillaz, and a few more that are on Tenser, Tekka, and Tom's list(there's a lethal T bunch, huh?) I really do not have a favorite band. I also have this one track on my computer from this new guy (I have a feeling he and his group might make it big some day:mrgreen

Tom: My wife loves Erykah Badu, especially the song "Tyrone" (it's definitely a female empowered song).

Jeckel: Do they play music on MTV or VH1 anymore? They should almost re-title those stations:Wanna-be celebrity not anyone's real reality TV.

You have to watch them late at night. Most of the time I work nights so, that is what I watch. I think they start playing music at about 2 or 3 a.m. (my time) and it goes on until about 9 or so. Not exactly sure of the times. When they stop, that is when I change it to GAC or CMT.

Yeah, I love experimental. It gives you something new and different in every song. I just got tired of every chord being a power chord and the Nirvana bass lines (two strings 4 frets).

I'm a huge Tom Petty fan and own a lot of his lesser known stuff. That's actually the best Petty. People are always surprised when I show them Petty's penchant for experimentation, i.e. country, rock-a-billy, folk, etc...

Though the greatest band ever has to be Pink Floyd. If they just started today they'd still be before their time.

I love that song as well. I guess that is what you get for living in a house with 4 women when you are young.

I don't know which of you two went first but there is a distinct advantage to going second. I've learned that from the Kong Challenge.

I think we went at the same time really. The "advantage" is only in the NES games and some of the Flash games because you can play over and over until you win to submit your score.

Call it an advantage if you want, I call it cheating in my book. I'm always getting challenges for this or that game. If its not an auto-post game I always decline them.

Curveball auto-submits your score so there's no getting out of it.
