King Kong or Godzilla?

Which one is Better? I'm not saying mine because I'm afraid it'll start an argument.

You should have put a poll on this one MM, so people could choose. As for me, it's Gojira (Godzilla) all the way! He could smoke King Kong any old day. Unless of course we are talking about Godzilla from the 1990's American version. In that case it should be Godzilla vs Pikachu to be a fair fight.

I doubt anyone will get in a heated debate over this. Don't be afraid to speak your mind.

I voted Godzilla. He would smoke King Kong in a heartbeat. Last I checked KK isn't taller than a sky scraper. Even without the whole shooting electricity thing godzilla is just more powerful.
The only chance KK would have is because of his agility. If he tired godzilla out he could finish him off.

Slightly off topic, I have always found it ironic that there were two endings filmed in the old Godzilla vs King Kong movie - one with each winning, so it could be shown in the respective country that the monster hailed from. Still in real life, I agree that the real Godzilla would smoke almost any other monster. Look at how he beat Mothra, Mechagodzilla, Ghidra, and more.

I like the ape, but I don't think he could make it long against the radioactive Gojira. I heard someone say once that even an Italian plumber could beat King Kong.

To be fair, Kong did beat some T-rex's and raptors pretty handily, and he is better with women. If the contest was who is the biggest ladies man, Kong would win every time. He is kind of the mac daddy when it comes to movie monsters. While Godzilla just goes back to the sea (his mother's basement perhaps?) after every battle, Kong scores with the chicks.

Indeed. Living off the land must stir up their primal sexual instincts. Maybe we should start a T.V. series called "That's Our Kong". Actually, maybe we don't need it, as MacGyver kind of lived like that too. I wonder if Kong can make a missle launcher out of banana peels, panty hose, and vegetable oil? If this was real life an ape would squish a lizard no problem. Otherwise i go with Gojira. He never dies, just goes back to sleep in the ocean. Didn't King Kong die?

He has died in some movies, but then Son of Kong, and other Kong type creatures would come into the picture. Also, Kong does not fear death, as he knows he will be resurrected in the many remakes of the first movie that come out every few years.

Besides, the Godzilla fighting games are cooler than the King Kong video games, in my opinion.

Godzilla is much more powerful than Kong even if Kong was the same size. The only reason Godzilla didin't beat Kong right away is because the movie would have been too short. Godzilla has nucler power. King Kong is just an ape. I still think King Kong is great but he is no Godzilla.

Godzilla would beat King Kong, Gamera, Ultraman and Rhedosaurus. His series expanded far beyond any of them, and he is more powerful. Maybe Ultraman would stand up to him. I don't know about Daimajin or Cloverfield.

On a side note, I'd like to explain the origin of monster movies. Treasure Island was the inspiration for King Solomon's Mines. That story began the lost world subgenre of the adventure genre, and it inspired The Lost World. The 1925 movie featured an attack by a brontosaurus on London, which inspired King Kong. That, in turn, inspired The Beast From 20,000 Fathoms, and that inspired Godzilla. I'd like to see Mecha-Long John Silver.

Godzilla's heat ray should not be seen. Neither should phasers from Star Trek or blaster bolts from Star Wars. They should all be invisible, like the heat rays from the book The War of the Worlds.

Godzilla was best when he wasn't a caveman. I like him more as a villain.
