what should we add next - part II

Last time we added 2000 Coin-Op games and Atari 2600 and are working on improving score submissions and adding Coin-Op scores.

What should we add this time?

[ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sega_32x"] Sega 32x[/ame] - ArcadeOX Only - No Java - An add on for the Sega Genesis that plays about 30 different games in 32bit graphics
[ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amiga"] Amiga[/ame] - ArcadeOX Only - Computer games from the mid-80s. I'm not positive this is possible. It will take some experimentation, research and trial and error.
[ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Choose_your_own_adventure"] Choose your own adventure[/ame] books - Scanned copies of old game books. These are lots of reading. If you want to fight the dragon turn to page 87. If you want to try running away turn to page 12.
2-XL - Old educational robot from the 70s-80s that asked multiple choice questions via an 8-track tape.
[ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Laserdisc_video_game"] Laserdisc video game[/ame] - I think I can get these to work online but there may be some unforeseen complications that could make it impossible. Like the Amiga this will take some research and trial and error without guarantee of success. They would have to be done one at a time which means it could take a quite while to get them all online. Maybe as slow as only one or two a month. But, man, they would be cool!
Add more Flash games and add score support to Flash games that do not save scores yet.
None - Don't add anything just continue working on improving the games and systems we already have.

Well Konnger you know what gets my vote. The PC/System with many of the best games ever made, the Commodore Amiga.

From RPG's like The Bard's Tale & Ultima series, to Cinemaware games (ie. King of Chicago , The Red Baron, Sinbad And The Throne Of The Falcon, Defender of The Crown); to classic Sierra quest games; to Adventure games (i.e. Deja Vu, Zak McKracken); to near perfect laser disk game ports (i.e. Dragon's Lair, Space Ace); to Real Time Strategy games (i.e. Dune I&II, Overlord, Lord of the Rising Sun); to some of the best pinball games ever released in the home; to the Psygnosis games (i.e. Obliterator, Barbarian, Shadow of the Beast), Amiga nearly had it all!

Kong, if the Amiga ultimately gets the nod and is enable able, laserdisc games might be somewhat redundant because the Amiga released many of the major laserdisc games made (i.e. Dragon's Lair, Space Ace, Cliffhanger), but they might be easier to put on the site because they were originally on disc. They even released sequels to Dragon's Lair and Space Ace (with additional levels and some old levels combined). There are a few cool laserdisc games, like Hologram Time Traveller & Badlands, that would be lost, but at least most could be put on here (if Amiga can work on R.U.).

I voted for the Commodore Amiga. A machine that was way ahead of it's time and still has one of the best libraries of great game titles to date. I would take the time to try and list some of them but it's a pretty substantial list. Winnebagel already mentioned a "few" of the cooler titles that were produced on the Amiga, but there are many more...

i have no idea why no one even mentions the neo geo, i thought it was a great system...i just wish i had kept mine cause some that stuff is worth a fortune now.

It's true they are not 100% side by side exactly the same. However, I was just trying to say that if laserdisc doesn't work, it might be a way to add some of these games still. For many games Amiga is the definitive version (i.e. Dark Castle) and other versions had to be ported to other systems to play them, but of course the laserdisc games took massive amounts of memory, so they would be a bit tougher.

Yeah Cam, the AmigaCD32 came out after the Amiga computer. The CD system only had a few dozen games on it, as it was only on the market for something like 6-7 months.

The Amiga computer system is the one that I, and several others on R.U., are always hyping. It had hundreds of awesome games and was on the market from 1985-the mid 90's. Some of the games were enhanced versions of Commodore 64 games, but then a lot were original games, and arcade games.

Yeah, it seems like people keep asking this Kong. Can we (Mods) update the FAQ?

I'm pretty sure Kong meant you to search the forum for the Neo Geo, not the FAQs. He said that the FAQs needed to be updated to answer that question.

Aaaaaaand... 32X takes the lead! Just remember, you just plug it into your Genesis, just like the black guy in the commercial! Also, Doom, Virtua Racing, MKII, and Chaotix are the good 32X games.

I have always been surprised at how popular 32X seems to be. I have one, but there were only a few games on it. I will admit some were good, and it would be cool to see that here, but I don't think the 32X had nearly as much to offer as Sega's other systems. I did like Star Wars and MKII on the system, though.
