Your first video game.
What is your earliest memory of playing a video game? I understand that you can't recall everything so just go with what you remember.
As for me, my first game was indeed Super Mario Bros, for the NES. Yep, yep.
Back then I had no clue how to pass World 8. Without the internet though, I cannot imagine how I had figured out the sequence of pipes. Most likely trial and error, but without the ability to save... that would have taken a while.

Re: Your first video game.
My earliest memory is hard to place. One that I remember was that really old Tank vs Tank game. You know, one on each side, object between them and whoever peeked out and shot better won. I think it was some version of Atari but it could've been Commodore64 or other PC type things.
The first game I remember really playing and understanding was FF1. Before that we didn't have a lot of access to video games.

Re: Your first video game.
Super Mario Bros. Deluxe for GBC
I was pretty young when I played it, and I just remember playing it, just sitting there and being frustrated. I got to 1-4, then I found out I had to keep going, It's the one game I could remember having a love/hate relationship with.
The first BAD game I played was Buzz Lightyear on GBC. I didn't love/hate it, I just hated it. The controls were horrible, but I still beat it at age 7...

@Dudebro [ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Artillery_Duel"]Artillery Duel - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia[/ame]
My (my parents) first system was Atari 2600. I remember playing these around 6 or 7: Yars' Revenge, Moon Patrol, Pit Fall, 3D Tic Tac Toe, Air-Sea Battle, Berzerk, Ice Hockey, Superman, Outlaw and Wizard of Wor
Shortly after that my grand parents got a ColecoVision, then I got a 2-XL, then SMS, then Pong, then Genesis, then Atari ST, then a 3DO, and then a computer.

The first game I ever played was probably something like Galaga at the arcade..... when games only cost a quarter! My father would give me 5 bucks and that could last for hours.
But as far as the first game owned it was Donkey Kong that came with my nice new shiny Colecovision. Good times.

I remember playing Sonic 2 for Game Gear when I was quite young, but not counting multiple handheld lcd ports I had , the first "system" I owned was Tiger's failed experiment Game.com. Anybody remember that?

Re: Your first video game.
My first game that I played at home was Tank vs UFO on the Commodore VIC20. The thing was on a standard audio cassette and you had to initially program the lines of code into the computer before the game could be played. How times have changed. The first arcade game I really spent time with was Dragon's Lair, but the first played were Ms. Pacman, Galaga, and Donkey Kong.

Re: Your first video game.
Chip's Challenge is awesome.
The first arcade machine that I really put a lot of time into was Tron.
Tron, Venture, and Metroid were probably the three games that influenced my taste in gaming the most.

I used to play Discs of Tron quite a bit. It was sweet. Don't think I ever played Chip's Challenge though.
