Re: Facebook or MySpace
Well Dudebro, you should probably check it out because it has alot better features than myspace, and i think you would prefer it once youve seen it and used it for a while.

Re: Facebook or MySpace
The only reason I use myspace at all is because my friends do. Otherwise I'd avoid it all together.

Re: Facebook or MySpace
My impression is that facebook seems to be the networking site of preference for most college (and now a lot of high school) students, and myspace tends to be popular with a lot of the groups that don't fall into those categories.
I'm a facebooker all the way. Myspace is a little too... something... for me. Busy, maybe?

Re: Facebook or MySpace
Yeah I would agree with cormark because most of my friends like facebook much more than myspace, and i'm in high school.

Re: Facebook or MySpace
I think I may be too late to vote, but for the record I like Myspace much better. Facebook is too cluttered for my tastes. I also like all the options in Myspace like posting music videos (I'm a musician what can I say?), better IM, messaging, and more. Facebook also seems too invasive to me.

Re: Facebook or MySpace
They're ice-cream and cake when you first start off, but after awhile you will probably get bored with either. I only use MySpace, but after having one for years it makes me start to ponder depressing things like "Why do I bother? I can just call my friends" and "No one likes me..." and "Is there a God??". Anyways, resist the urge and read a good book. ;D

I don't get on very often either, but it does help to keep in touch with friends who are far away.

You've had a lot of experience with that? I've been on myspace for like 8 years and I've never had any problems besides the usual friend spam.

That could mean one of two things... either there aren't that many pedophiles/creepers... or you're one of them

My point was Myspace gets a bad reputation. If people were just smarter about personal info and privacy we wouldn't have all this trouble in the first place. Myspace is the home of stupid young people, that's why predators have a field day.

Re: Facebook or MySpace
I have never had this issue with Myspace either, but I think there was a problem going on awhiler back. However, I heard in the news that the owner of Myspace worked with the police to crack down on sex offenders on Myspace. I think the problem has pretty much been resolved (as much as can be). I just like the format of Myspace better. To me, Facebook is not as userfriendly.

Fair enough, though I think Facebook has more built-in safeguards to protect against creeps. I'd imagine there's about as many stupid young people on Facebook as there are on Myspace.

Re: Facebook or MySpace
you guys read facebooks new terms of aggreement? ill sum it up: anything you put on facebook becomes facebooks property, they can sell your information to market research or collection agencys, your face could be the main selling point in the lateset pepsi ad, and you would not see a dime. as far as facebook is concernerned, you are now the possession of facebook.

Most likely. They know 99% of thier customers never read ToS anyways.

I guess that's true sadly. Reading is kind of no longer in vogue in general in our world today. :P

That's good to hear. I know being a musician, Myspace can be kind of a cool way to showcase your songs, but if the ToS basically try to take ownership of the material put there, I will be going elsewhere.
