review-Sonic Unleashed (PS3 Version)
This game's definitely been hit or miss with the critics, and I can't give this game a fair ranking alltogether, so for gameplay and graphics, I'm separating day and night.
Gameplay
Day: 10
during the day sonic is fast, and it's incredibly fun, changing from 3d to 2d angles and back, giving speed boosts and allowing you to travel at speeds over 900 MPH (you're speeds are counted at some points) and platforming elements are added, which is nice, making it resemble graphically enhanced versions of the classics at day, it's perfect. Perfection. Sonic is saved.
Night: 5
The nighttime levels aren't horrible, preforming combos is fun, but they go on forever, and become repetitive and tedious when solving puzzles and platforming.
Graphics:
Day: 9
Everything here is great, the beautiful enviroments, cartoonish graphics, and great animation
Night: 4
The enviroments and models look the same, but the framerate is HORRIBLY CHOPPY, it's sickening.
Sound:8
This game replaces the usual Sonic rock with some worldly music to match the enviroments you're in,and it works
Closing comments:
Sonic is saved, but he's still delicate, if Sega puts effort into it,can sonic be king again? I hope
Overall:
The final verdict, I'm rating the entire game overall.
7.9/10
