an atheist is some that denies the existance of a supreme being or god. you can have a religion, but that is dependent on your distinction. for example, some atheist may denounce religion and gods, while others might denounce gods, but still worship something like the sun.

Actually, atheist means to worship no god. Monotheist means to worship one god like Christians, Jews, and Muslims. Polytheist means to worship many gods like Shintoist.

That should be "believe in the existence of". "worship" isn't required to be a theist.

And theist means you believe in one or more gods. And agnostic means you do not think the question is answerable.

Atheist means you believe in one god less than a Christian. Though they always confused me with the Father, Son, Holy Ghost trilogy plus all the saints. Sounds more polytheist to me.

And Cameron you are way off. You didn't even spell Satan right.

I thought the YMCA one was funny. The FF one gets some props for being RU related but if the poll had a third option, "neither", I would have choose it.

Actually the Father, Son, and the Holy Ghost is a Catholic thing not a Christian one. Catholics make the cross on themselves to represent the trilogy.

Most of the saints are Catholic but the Father, Son, Ghost trilogy thing is part of all Christianity. Some Christians groups might not get into the ghost part as much as others but the father/son part is crucial to the whole thing. Without the son you are a Jew and without the father you are an atheist.

I get that. As a Christian we believe in the father and the son (God and Jesus). Most Christian groups do not preach the trilogy as much its more of just God and Jesus. I go to non-denominational churches so you don't get taught the trilogy in the sense that you said. The ones that I go to that teach about the apostles. The whole bible was written for Jewish people anyway it was just adapted over to the Christian faith.

Now with the Jewish thing if the bible was written for the Jewish faith and from the Jewish perspective with Jewish laws to follow wouldn't they be more inclined to believe in the trilogy instead of just god? Jesus was Jewish and the son of God so the Jewish people must have believed in both the Father and the Son.

I personally have never been taught the trilogy in any of the churches that I have ever been to. So maybe that is from a different type of denomination from the Christian church, but not all Christians believe or follow the trilogy so some Christian churches just talk the Father and son. So to say all Christianity follows the trilogy is not correct some do teach it some do not.
