I heard there was actually some historical reason for saying X-Mas insted of CHristmas, but I couldn't find it.

If I forget you tell me here, PLEASE don't resort to smiting and telling me there I looked and there is only one reason there that I EVER should have gotten smited out of those six, and metricus I hadn't heard that but back to smites I really should have +2/-1 but down this path it's going to end up +6/-346 seriously if you're going to smit, I"m not a mod but you should have a good reason to smite or aplaud, I always do but... I'm being a big downer here, so I DO hope you all enjoy you're gifts, and have fun with them ;D

Well I should have never had one smite.

I expected the first smite to come from Tenser but no Tenser didn't want to do that ;D

Don't worry about the smites, I doubt any of those will carry over when the site updates.

The Greek word for Christ is Χριστος. X sounds like Ch in Greek. Christian have used the abriviation Xtian for themselves for over a thousand years.

I don't know how long Xmas has been used but it is very common.

I believe that Kong is correct. There is documentation in Anglo-Saxon manuscripts that uses the xmas abbrivations since around 1000 AD. Commerically, the recent trend of using Xmas could be an attempt at the secularization of christmas.

I was just confused with the wording.

Catholisism is Christianity. Protestantism is Christianity. Catholisism is not Protestantism. Protestantism is not Catholisism.

Baptist, Church of Christ, Methodist etc. are all Protestant. None of these things are Catholic and Catholic is none of these things.

I am just confused as to what you meant by the statement. It sounded to me like you were saying Protestantism is a lower level of Catholisism.
