King of Kong: A Fistfull of Quarters

I recently watched this movie. For those of you who don't know what it is, it is a documentary about a guy who tried to break the world record score in Donkey Kong.

It's a really god watch for video game nerds like myself. It was interesting to see how much harder it was for the guy trying to break the score than the guy trying to keep the score. I would recommend it to anyone that thinks the concept sounds a little interesting. It was veryt well put together.

that doc, is sooo good, one of my favorite movies of all time, not justfor gamers either, my gf even teared up a little. billy mitchell is god.

Billy Mitchell is kind of a weasel. I felt really bad for that Wiebe dude. But I guess he got his.

I liked Billy Mitchell at the beggining. He seemed totally cool. But then things went South.

I happened upon this documentary one summer afternoon with nothing much better to do.

It was very well put together and interesting. I found it fascinating and at the same time sad that grown men could devote that much of themselves to a videogame. I was somewhat disturbed during the scene where Wiebe(sp?) was in his basement doing his thing and his kid was screaming for him to help him. And I agree, Billy Mitchell is about a 78 on a scale of 1 to 10 for tools.

FunFact: I live in the same small town that Jim Frank does. Most of you probably don't know the name, but at one time he ranked second nationally in the SNES tournaments in San Diego.

has anyone from this site contacted twin galaxies about the scores on this site possibly being accepted into there official highscores? i know for sure that there are some on this site that are higher than the official world record. i doubt that they would be accepted but ya never know.

fun fact: i entered a mario kart competition when i was a kid and i did not do well at all

King of CON is a documentary that that explains it all.

King of Kong is NOT a documentary ................it was all premeditated and staged and a lot of people like Steve Wiebe got paid a good buck by literaly stealing and exploiting subject material that did not belong to themhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qBItUZyKHSU

The King of CON is the "real documentary' that clears up the story behing what seems to be one of gamings favorite works of fiction and disenfranchisement.
