Kill Screens

Have any of you got to the kill screen on an old game?

(For those of you who dont know, a kill screen is basicly where a glitch happens on a particular level in a game whitch makes the level unbeatable, quite a lot of old games have them eg. level 256 on Pac-Man and Dig Dug, level 22 on donkey kong, level 100 on duck hunt)

On my PSP I have got to Pac-Man's kill screen

, have any of you got to the kill screen on a game or know anyone who has?

Super Mario Bros. has a glitch that ,when used in World 1-2, can take you to a secret level. You can never beat that secret level.

Actualy i do sort of remember reading something about the negative world ages ago, i cant remember exactly what is was though.

It's a copy of world 2-2, but when you reach the end of the level, it just takes you back to the beginning. I've also heard that there are 4 minus world levels in a japanese version of the game.

Its level 36-1 and 36 isn't there so its -1

I've been -2 -3 -4 but -4 crashes and gives black screen.

I guess no one was expected to get that far, & if anyone had, I guess they have kinda beaten the game. From 1-99, then 0 & then you can't do anything once there. WOW!

kill screens usually happen (but not always) when you get so far in the game (usualy level 100 or 256) that ther isnt enough memory to load another level and that causes invalid data to load and give you a messed up unfinishable leevel. some games however were programed to loop from the last level back to the first one sucsessfuly and some would were made to just repeat the same level over and over so the game would never end. V ideoY3K is right, the programmers didnt fix the kill screens very often because they didnt think people would get that far.

Yes, when you complete level 32 (the last level) on ice climber, level 33 will be level 1 again.
