Nintendo Patents Rotational Shoulder Buttons

The rotation operation section may be provided at either one of the side surfaces of the housing of the operation apparatus. The rotation operation section may be provided near a position where two of the side surfaces of the housing of the operation apparatus intersect each other. The rotation operation section may be provided at a shoulder portion of the housing.

Clickable wheel instead of normal shoulder triggers.

Nintendo really can't let go of their wacky controls, can they.

At least a spinning shoulder bar sounds a bit more practical than a TV screen inside your controller.

Ah.. So replace the l and r buttons with the big wheel from The Price is Right, and they are clickable. Not too shabby.

Another gimmick to necessitate buying yet another version of the DS?
How many does that leave obsolete now - 3 or 4?
In the plus column this will drive the price of the older ones down even more.
