Noob here . controllers?

Is there any other way to control these games other than with my keyboard? This might be a dumb Q but I am new to all of this. Can I buy a joystick or some kind of hand control to play some of my favorite 80s arcade games on this site?

you actually can play with joystick or d-pad. I've got controller with usb plug and it works perfectly. All you got to do is:

1 - plug the controller in
2- Launch the game (ArcadeOX full mode)
3- in game - select "options" - "input" and then you can set the controlls

I'm afraid it doesn't work for score mode though.

Thanks for the help guys, I ordered a cheaper version of the XBOX 360 controller on ebay, I will see how well this one works, it was only $18 shipped

That is a good buy 80sGuy! Xbox controllers work well on this site as they install their own drivers to your computer when you plug in. As with most USB controllers will install their drivers for you, If you use a Playstation controller like I do you may have to downloaad a controller emulation program such as Motionjoy. You CAN also change your button configuration in score mode by simply pressing Tab and selecting the " This Game" drop down!

As the real Xbox 360 controllers are coming down in price, i recommend you buy one of those (heck, i even saw a combo > controller > wireless dongle for Windows for like $30 here in Sweden).

THAT is if your not satisfied with your purchase.

Aaaand, might i add the d-pad on the new 360 controllers are actually good. MIND BLOWN!

Got my XBOX controller today! Not bad for a repro! I have another question, Is there any way to make the game you are playing Full screen?

Alt+enter should fullscreen the window.

You can also drag the game window to the top of the screen and it should engage full screen also.

Why doesn't my XBOX controller work on some games like Donkey Kong Country for super Nintendo?

If it works on some games it will work on all of them.
Make sure it is working and configured correctly in "game controllers" in the control panel. If it is not recognised there and not configured properly, it wont work with AOX

In Score Mode the controller is automatically set up. Just make sure it is plugged in before you launch the game.

In Full Mode you will need to configure it for each system. For SNES that means clicking "Input" then "Input Configuration".
