How did you find Retrouprising?

I'm always curious about how people end up on the websites I frequent. I'm not asking for personal details or anything just where you first saw this site and/or what made you look for it.

I'll go first. I have been a member of http://ffxi.allakhazam.com/ for about 4-5 years now. I found a link to EveryVideoGame.com in there from some random person on a random topic. Then under similar circumstances I found this site from there. Once I got to know this site and it's members I never went back.

I'm sure I've said this before somewhere, but I don't mind saying it again:

I'm also an EVG refugee. I found EVG by it being on a local radio station's website. Played around for a while over there, then some guy over there mentioned something about a site called onVGP (I believe his name was Tenser Hunter, or something, I can't be too sure

). I went to onVGP and stayed there for a while. Then the admin over there decided to overhaul the whole thing and change the name or something...it's kinda vague on what happened exactly. I may have had something to do with that whole change over thing, like I said, it's kinda vague.

But fast forward to now, I'll be "celebrating" my second year on RU in August (easy to remember, I signed up close to my second daughter's birth), and there are others that have been here longer. Made dozens of friends during my stay, it's a blast!

Oh I forgot to mention why I thought of this idea. I was bored and decided to look at my old posts. I saw my intro and a few other noob posts I made. One of the first things I asked about was EVG and RU. Then I saw Sabbys post about how this site started and it got me thinking. So here we are.

Also my 1 year anniversery at RU pasted like 13 days ago. Wish I noticed it so I could've made a big deal about it and regretted it later.

Like many others, I came from EVG. I think I was doing a google search for tecmo bowl and found it there. Then I read a thread made about a new game site called onVGP that would launch around christmas time. Anyone else remember the timer that was there before the site launched? I went to onvgp a lot before I finally registered in august '06. I can't believe its been almost 2 years!

well first i found evg by my friend Kurkaka. i played Double Dragon there disappointed there was no mario or Sonic. So at the time i was still in my akatsuki clan in Naruto-Arena and i made a topic about game websites, and Kurkaka posts their about RU, and i was so excited since it actually had Sonic, Mario, Double Dragon, you name it. I;m glad i found RU, now i know i actually do rock at games instead of just thinking it

Oh jeez. It's been awhile now.

About five years ago I had semi-retired from my gaming guild and was bored out of my mind. Reading through my Newsweek I found about www.del.icio.us which is a bookmark sharing site. On the bookmarking site I found a link to EVG. Kong and Hobbes are the only older members than I am who are still active. After a few months EVG made me a game mod and we hit it off from there. I am the longest running mod though. :P

After awhile I was called out of retirement from my gaming group and had to leave EVG for awhile. Then fate happened. One day after I finished helping my gaming guild out and went back into retirement I got an email from Kong asking me to come help on a new site he made called onVGP. The rest you should know.

Five years Kongger. You deserve a medal for putting up with me for that long. :P

Google- Searched up NES Games and found me here on December 2006. I started to play RU and boy, was I on 24/7 and the bug-finder person

. Heck i became a Game mod soon enough in 2007 March and was in the team DDQ. Participated in most contests and was considered a well known member

. Ahoho! I found a game called "Stick Online". It was very addicting!, but i still went on RU until the big change of RU happened. I forgot RU since

. If i remember , the change happened near the summer and I had got taken in by the world of online games (MMO). Used to do frequent visits when i remember it and when i make a "am back" topic, i just leave again *poof*. Then some time later in April, i saw new teams had been produced! Decided to stay and actually remembered to save this site to the bookmarks. Am surprised i still have my scores which i never intended to keep.
Most events that I remember in:
1) Woot Moai-Kun finished finally >.>
2) Boy Sabby, good contest in the trophies for awhile
3) Abadox + Addams Family = Me in DDQ
4) Curveball war! Now i can never get that score

5) Who remembred alic1994? The infraction abuser which was my friend. Noone? :P
6) Hmm i took the puck from Sabby

7) Hobbes, have a good time at Bayou Billy? :P

After helping out much, GM status. (Youngest GM ((not a forum/site mod)) on RU? o.o)

this is really my first game site that i've ever regularly been on. i found out about it from my awesome friend (obviously, since he told me about this site!), and now it brings me hours of video game entertainment! go RU!

I actually found it by serching for Super Metroid.... a game thats not even here, but found metroid II instead, which is an awesome game in itself too! ...and golden axe. so i saw it and thought....YAY! retro games!

I used EVG at work because I liked to play RC pro-am to kill time. I think I inadvertanly found a link to this...I think I may have came across it in the past just through a search but I just skipped over it.
