bandwidth?

does playing games on RU take up any bandwidth?

Everything you do on the internet takes up bandwidth, and I'd imagine how much depends on the game. For example, loading an NES game would probably take less bandwidth than, say, one of the relatively newer arcade games because the game itself would be smaller, as well as the intensity on your machine.

Loading a new game and submitting scores are the only time that bandwidth is used.

Submitting a score after a few minutes takes almost no bandwidth. Submitting a score after a couple hours can take a bit.

Loading a small game like an NES game requires very little. Loading a large game like Metal Slug or Street Fighter Alpha 3 (our largest games) takes more but by the time the game is playing bandwidth is no longer being used.

Internet Explorer uses less bandwidth than Firefox when loading games because the plugin is coded more efficiently.
