SNES9X in Firefox

Hello guys,

Anyone else having problems with SNES9X in Firefox? It keeps crashing when I'm playing Top Gear. I remember I had a problem loading Genesis games when connected to Steam, so disconnected that and still get the issue.

Any ideas?

Re: SNES9X in Firefox

Open a Run Prompt by pressing Windows Key + R.
Paste
%temp%\low\arcadeox
press enter

Rename the folder super-nintendo to super-nintendo-old.
Your saves and old configs will be in that folder.

Start a new game.

Did the problem go away?

Re: SNES9X in Firefox

Thank you Kong, that's super helpful. I'll give it a go now and let you know how it goes.

Just tried Top Gear in full screen. Ten minutes or so in play it crashed again. Will try in a window.

Tried in a window and it crashes there, too. Very odd.

Not working for me. I dropped in to the chat channel on Sunday but I think we're separated by a lot of time zones so didn't cross paths.

Re: SNES9X in Firefox

this still happens to me in all browsers. could it have anything to do with the window being minimized for an extended period of time? either the snes9x window or the browser window? i do that because i play during lulls at work.

the time that it takes to crash varies as well.
  1. Are you interested in using TeamViewer (more info below)?
    i can't, sorry
  2. What is your OS?
    Windows 7
  3. What is your browser?
    currently failing in IE 11.0
  4. Post a link to one game you are having problems with. Final Fantasy III but it's happening with all games/emulators.
  5. What Play Mode is causing the problem?
    ArcadeOX Full
  6. Has it ever worked correctly before?
Yes, not in a while though
  7. Describe the problem.
Games load fine, then after a few minutes of play SNES9XW just stops working. I get a Windows error message telling me the program stopped working, then it closes. Happens in all browsers and all emulators. it's been several months since it ran continuously without issue.

i have been running each browser in administrator mode, which allows the emulator to open (eset stops it otherwise). but even so, i get the same behavior as kiwivega. i've been saving often to avoid losing too much progress, but it's still kinda disappointing.
