With the amount of stuff your posting about Canadian Parliament, have they
been doing anything right recently?

LOL. At your reaction...then I read the article and LOL'ed at the whole situtation.

A temporary building that will cost 42 mil that will only be used while the parliament building is being renovated, and the total project cost expected to by over 100 mil.

100 mil really isn't that much for governments, but that half of that project is for a completely over the top temporary meeting facility is just really lame. It is Canada for pete sake, just go have your parliament meetings at a hunting cabin, or a hockey game, or at a bryan adams concert.

Hey, I was going to say that.
I don't think the glass dome is unreasonable, but the temporary building is a bit much.

Re: $42M glass dome approved for Parliament

Calling this a temporary building seems dishonest, if I'm reading the story right.
Quote:
MPs and their parliamentary seats will then be moved back to the current chamber, and the soaring glass dome renovated at further expense to house three parliamentary committee rooms.
So it's a temporary housing for parliament but once they're done it's gonna become committee rooms? It's still a huge waste of money but from the sound Jims post it was some 42mil tent that they were gonna destroy once they're done with it.
