I was looking thru the web and found this website I am going to see how many records we broke.

Twin Galaxies includes every platform aswell as MAME.

sc I believe you have the high score for 1945k III the highest score I found outside of this website is 3 mil

Ahh well, this games scoring system is really glitchy though. The guy with 23 million must have found some sweet glitches.

Yeah he finished the game also Judging by their comments there looks to be a way to get millions through the bosses. One person even mentions a 10million point bonus. Not having played the game myself I cant say much more

My score was saved right before the last boss, so my 8 mill and his 23 mill are from killing essentially the same enemies. The weird thing is that you can trigger these really odd bonuses from doing things specific ways, like not using a bomb during a boss fight for example. I'm pretty sure they are just glitches.

Oh right. If the programmers intended the bonuses to be there I'd be hesitant in calling them glitches, more likely secrets or similar. Again though, I havent played this game before so my opinion is open to subjectivity

This is not a good feature, especially if you are using the info off of that site, as the scores are horrendously out of date, incomplete, or just wrong.

Using Twin Galaxy scores would be better, but even their list falls short because many players play for score without submitting, so they are many scores that are not official.

For instance, TG does not have a listing for 1941, yet I know player Smraedis has a higher score than me, see here. I don't want to be attached to any records when they're clearly not true.

For example here and here are score record lists that are way higher than the cited site. Whole list of shooting game score boards here.

TLDR: Not a good idea to claim records based on wrong or outdated info.

It's a good feature, just keep in mind that the "world records" may not actually be the world records. I agree we should refer to TG since they have been the offial video game score keepers since 1981 or whatever.

I agree, but this is an understatement in my opinion.
I don't often tell people about RU, but when I have, this has been one of the selling points I would mention: the fact that you get to compete globally for high scores in one of the largest Arcades in existence anywhere, ever.
