^ it gave me that for 5 min.. what happened?

Probably you opened several pages at once and the server thought you were trying to flood it so it locked you out. I should probably add that to the error description.

About 6 months ago someone that runs another video game site tried to knock us offline by flooding the server. That is why the server locks anyone out that does this now.

You basically got temporarily banned. It is only temporary though. The amount of time that you get banned is based on how many pages you try to open at once. The more you open the longer the ban.

I guess it is something like a mafia. In that they are both jerks

heres a suggestion.

make a random letter'd thing you have to use to log in.

like EA35F

and you typer it in to see if you are human.

I personally hate those. I find them annoying. Plus if you required everyone including the guest to type that to use the site then Google would be kicked out and that wouldn't be good.

true, maybe you could do something to only allow one ip and if its really close one cant get in?

I'm not sure if this has anything to do with RU, but its happened to me a couple of times now.
I was on the website and I will click on a link and suddenly Internet explorer will start opening tab after tab and there is nothing that I can do but wait for it to stop or press Ctrl Alt Del to end the program. Then when I try to come back, I am banned for a few minutes because the site thinks I am trying to flood it. Does anyone know why this would happen? Thanks

hmm its best to use firefox and you could have spyware on your comp.

Sounds like you do have spyware of some type.

Has this happened multiple times?

Has it happened at any other site?

Have you noticed anything that seems to cause it?

I recommend using Firefox and http://www.safer-networking.org/en/index.html and http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.html and making sure you have an up to date anti-virus program.

Ok thanks I'll have my dad look at it. It happened twice here, but I don't remember doing anything that seemed to cause it both times.

TNT i found out WHY it does it...

happened to me 5 times and crashed my computer because i was testing it..

basically when you open IE7 (i assume you have) you can have more than one home page, well if you close the browser BEFORE any other home page is up it creates mass windows thinking its still there.

try it, anyone can do it, though you have to wait until it freezes to stop them.

meaning when it pops up (your browser) you close it before anything loads, and i havent tried it with a single since my IE has 6 Home Pages.

but now that i do remember about all of them were all Naruto-Arena my original home page.
