Controller not really registering

  1. Are you interested in using TeamViewer? No
  2. What is your OS? Example Vista, XP, Mac OSX, etc. Windows 7
  3. What is your browser? Firefox 6
  4. Post a link to one game you are having problems with. Earthbound-SNES
  5. What Play Mode is causing the problem? Example ArcadeOX Score, Java Full, etc. ArcadeOX
  6. Has it ever worked correctly before? Yes on other games but this is my first time playing this one
  7. Describe the problem.
I have an XBOX 360 Afterglow controller, When i go into the game to set up the controller input, it registers the button presses there, and it sets the button for whichever one i pushed. I pressed ok, but when I try and start the game, (its going through its little game intro screen) It doesnt seem to know im pressing buttons. I push them all but it wont do anything.

Re: Controller not really registering

Does it say something like "Button X and Joystick 1". If so, when you click enter on the command to change it (let's say you want to change "X" on keyboard to "A" on Xbox 360 Controller), hit escape to clear it. Then hit enter again on it and press whatever button you what to make it.

Re: Controller not really registering

Okay I seem to be having problems again. I open the control input, and now it doesnt want to recognize my controller at all. My computer can tell its plugged in. I have a USB thing that I can plug in, and it has 4 ports on it, so I can plug in more stuff at once. I plugged it into different spots, but with no difference, the SNES seems to not be able to see my controller

Re: Controller not really registering

If you are using Windows 7 (other OS are similar) then go to the Control Panel. Select Devices and Printers. Your controller should be listed there. Select it and click properties. You should be able to test that the buttons are working.

If it is not listed there or not working, then it is a problem with Windows, your controller or USB. If it is working there then the problem is with the game.

Either way, first step is to make sure it is plugged in. If that doesn't help then reboot.
