Guardian Legend - June 2011

In The Guardian Legend, the player controls the female guardian of Earth, a "highly sophisticated aerobot transformer. The player's mission is to infiltrate Naju, a large planet-like object which aliens sent hurtling towards the Earth. While inside, the player must activate ten safety devices in order to initialize Naju's self-destruct mechanism and destroy the alien world before it reaches Earth. Five hostile tribes of alien lifeforms are vie for control of territories within Naju, and the player needs to fight through them to successfully activate the switches and escape. The story is advanced through a series of messages left by one or more unidentified predecessor(s) who unsuccessfully attempted to engage the self-destruct mechanism of Naju before the Guardian arrived. Left by the sole remaining survivor of the attack on Naju, the first message serves as an introduction; later messages give hints that help the player open locked corridors.

I can and have beaten the game but I doubt I can do it in 5 lives or less.

Gwahaha. Grimgrin is fun. I'll give you a tip for him. save up lots of enemy erasers for him, when you fight him and start to get low, spam EE's until you get a ton of powerups from destroyed bullets and eyeballs, then collect and go back to fireballing him into dust.

Those bouncy leech plant thing minibosses are the bane of my existance

And I modeled my name and picture specifically after this game :3

I know the strategy to beat him, he just still owns me more often than not.

Those bouncy things do suck. That's what ended my score run on here.

He killed me twice for my first 2 deaths, so I gave up. If only I had the second level fireball to get rid of his slime tentacle crap that destroys you

I thin Blue optomon is the hardest boss in the game. red optomon is a joke cause you have upgraded fireballs by then. can't get lvl 2 fireball before blue one though.

I'd still rank Red GrimGrin as the hardest because if you run out of Enemy Erasers you're SOL. Blue Optomon would be second though. The amount of damage his slime things do is INSANE.

Looking at that screenshot on the original post, I wonder if that's from when I submitted when I first joined and didn't read the rules and had to retract it lol.

I died only twice. Now I pity whoever has to watch this to verify it and hope I didn't break any rules(I don't think I did)

Also, can I get high score credit?

The only thing I did that I am slightly worried about was a couple times returning to an area to regain health and chips(it respawns after every corridor you beat) and at the end when I was wasting enemy erasers while walking just so I didn't get hit because some of those enemies cause huge damage and can spawn where you can't avoid them)

When you guys verify do you watch in fast forward or something? It probably took 2 hours of playtime or more for me to get through the game.

Thanks. You probably can beat my score because I usually kill very little while wandering in explore mode.

I probably could have beaten it only dying once and maybe even without dying. I forgot which corridor the red grim grin was in and entered it before I was ready for it, and on another flying level I forgot to throw on the shield powerup and died trying to get a health powerup.
