These are a few of the games I remember and although not
all of them are as primitive as the ones
DB posted I hope you'll all enjoy these Arcade classics:
Indian Battle »
Coin Op - you're a Cowboy fighting hordes of bloodthirsty savage Native North Americans!
They're savages, savages {barely even Human!}
Savages, savages{killers at the core!}
Watch out for buzzard droppings, and surprise attacks from below!
And
WB: I'm going to get this high score back from you
one day, you'll see.
Kamikaze »
Coin Op - these invaders aren't just crazy - they've gone Kamikaze!
Hint: shoot them while they're still in their launch tubes, because if they fall ...
Looping »
Coin Op - a flying shooter with a plane that cannot fly straight, difficult to hit targets, and a nearly impossible to follow maze past the first screen {not to mention the fact this game has a habit of just switching back to the title screen right in the middle of gameplay}, this is truly one of my retro favorites.
M79 Ambush »
Coin Op - a straightforward yet challenging first person shooter.
Destroy as many enemy vehicles as possible within the time limit, with extra time awarded for high scoring - but don't hit the U.N. vehicle or your gun will be temporarily disabled for several seconds.
New York New York »
Coin Op - another platform shooter featuring some rather unusual characters ... like the
'UFO' !
Pleiads »
Coin Op - possibly New York New York's long lost cousin.
Another game with an unusual background that seemed common to games from the late 70's/ early 80's, but this time the invaders can actually blow bits of it up.
I have no idea what the wall building is all about except maybe they're trying to make themselves a shield from your fire?
Radar Scope »
Coin Op - you guys probably all already know this one - a legendary game.
I always loved the 'owl' sounds the enemy ships make.
Perhaps a bit repetitive but still satisfying.
Rip Cord »
Coin Op - skydive through a mess of helicopters - that's about it.
Sheriff »
Coin Op - I used to know this game as Bandito, but still the same fun game.
You're the Sheriff, surrounded by very polite banditos who tip their hats before shooting at you.
'Space Invaders in the round'.
Space Cruiser »
Coin Op - another platform shooter from the early 80's.
I like the random pattern the enemy ships fly in.
Sprint 8 »
Coin Op - racing doesn't get much more retro than this.
I remember the cabinet for this one being massive and taking up a lot of space in the Arcade.
{8 steering wheels and gas pedals!}
Starship 1 »
Coin Op - a primitive first person space shooter where you take command of the Starship Atari {according to the instructions}.
One of the enemy ships looks awfully familiar ... hmmm...
UniWar S »
Coin Op - a unique platform shooter and one of my childhood favorites.
Watch out for the enemies that get dropped underneath the floor - it's best not to allow them to get down there in the first place.
Wizard of Wor »
Coin Op - another game I'm sure you're all familiar with.
The only thing it's missing is the Wizard's vocal taunts but the rest of this classic is intact.
