Aaah, zombies! The undying genre of horror that always seems to do the same predictable yet undeniably effective base plot. Peaceful small city in the middle of nowhere gets contaminated with military chemical BIO-HAZARDOUS material. Peaceful city residents start turning into zombies and the military comes in to cover their tracks and nuke the whole city. That or there is no plot at all and you're simply introduced to a group of people fighting off the undead. From George Romero's
Night of the Living Dead to Ruben Fleischer's
Zombieland, that's basically the way it goes.
Aaah! Zombies!! puts a wonderfully unique twist on the classic genre by telling you the story from the perspective of the zombies themselves. This movie was hilarious! It has the feel of a B-movie, but with a much better budget and decent actors. Sure they would over act sometimes, but hey, it's a comedy movie and it was meant to be a little cheesy to begin with. They did a great job at switching between color and B&W to let you know when you were seeing from the eyes of the zombies or humans without it being annoying at all. Over all, I gave it a solid 3 out of 5 stars. I was really close to giving it 4 stars, but the momentum slowed down a bit too much midway the film and it could have had a bit more action and brain eating. I recommend this to anyone who loves zombies and comedy films topped off with some cheese.
