I have an account and I've actually used coins to purchase something(animal crossing playing cards), hopefully that makes me active enough.

Is Club Nintendo Worth it? If you got a DS lite when it came out could you still get 160 coins for it?

No. The rewards are absolute crap on this side of the ocean. But it's free stuff so you might as well anyways.

So... then it is worth it? As long as you're not buying stuff specifically to earn points it's all free extras. That's worth signing up and registering imo.

I guess, but if you're not into collecting folders and greeting cards you're not going to get much out of it.

Re: Nintendo Sending Out Gifts to Active Club Nintendo Users
Well there was that cd at one point, maybe that was JP. I need to register my new stuff, I was a little ticked that after 2 versions of the DS, a Wii with a few games, and 40+ DS games I still didnt have enough to get anything. I think of my 40 DS games 3 of them were valid. Gonna go update it now.

It's better than getting zero extra junk for your Nintendo products though!

That's no consolation..........
Here's America's rewards page.
Let's start with the price of a single item.
Game & Watch Collection 1 - 800
Stop. Breaking News!
Nothing in the Japan store costs that much.
Let's see what fans get accross the pond.
Japan Club Nintendo Store
Super Mario Galaxy 2 OST - 500
.uƒX.[ƒp.[ƒ}ƒŠƒIƒMƒƒƒ‰ƒNƒV.[2.vƒTƒEƒ“ƒhƒgƒ‰ƒbƒN
Game & Watch Collection 1 - 500
ƒQ.[ƒ€.•ƒEƒIƒbƒ`ƒRƒŒƒNƒVƒ‡ƒ“(The second one goes for the same price!)
Kirby Ultra Super Deluxe Soundtrack - 400
.¯‚̃J.[ƒrƒB ƒEƒ‹ƒgƒ‰ƒX.[ƒp.[ƒfƒ‰ƒbƒNƒX ƒTƒEƒ“ƒhƒgƒ‰ƒbƒN
Mario & Luigi RPG Sound Selection - 400
(Selection of songs from all three Mario/Luigi portable RPG games)
ƒ}ƒŠƒI.•ƒ‹ƒC.[ƒWRPG ƒTƒEƒ“ƒhƒZƒŒƒNƒVƒ‡ƒ“
I would post more but that would only make me more jealous.
For the same price that you're paying for a carrying case of extra wrist straps, Japan gets original music CDs, top tier prizes, and what looks like an original DS game.
No wonder I feel just a tiny bit bitter.
So yeah, enjoy your bookmarks and folders.

I get your point about how unfair it is but my point is it could be worse. Some promotions are simply unavailable in different regions. My Animal Crossing cards may be sorta lame but at least I got something for the few games I bought and whatever else I registered.

Registering also extends your warrenty.
I just got a satchel for my 3DS and still have 840 coins left.

Eh, I was just grouchy last night. It was past my bedtime.
I still disapprove though. How hard is it to manufacture a CD? If they are willing to ship out figurines and ancient LCD games, is a CD that hard or too much to ask for?

The cost of producing a CD in, or shipping to America including translations, witch means a whole new print, probably wouldnt be worth it for the 2-3000 that are likely to be redeemed, maybe this is just a guess. Also, I think I can count on 1 hand the amount of time I've seen any sountrack to any game localized, in fact off hand I can't even think of one.

It would be nice if they just included an extra coin fee to be able to "import" from other Club Nintendo stores.

That would be cool but since it's more of a promotion, I am doubting the legality of it.

We should totally buy some and repaint them. Make a hefty profit.
