Free screeny recorder Thingy help

Sorry about the random title I was wondering if anyone knows the name of this softwear that you download that records things off screen, like if I was watching something it would record it. I think RU uses one to record tournements and stuff.

Im thinking of doing a review on a TV show and I was wondering what its called because im gonna have to record some of the show off the internet, and allso Ill be using boring windows movie maker to make it.

So if anyone knows the name of the Screeny video recorder thingy, and could recomend a free one, I would be very greatfull.

(also if anyone can recomend any free video editing stuff I would also be greatfull)

Screen recorder I beleve its called, there is one softwear called Hypercam
Anyone recomend anything?

I usually see Hypercam used, so I'd go with that.

I think CamStudio - Free Screen Recording Software is better. They don't add advertising to your final video.

Fraps is another one, and the one I use personally.

I don't use any of them but I always hear that fraps is a good one to go with.

I downloaded Camstudio, It seemed very jumpy to me, my recordings were skiping frames and stuff.

I downloaded this off Piratebay (Im not paying for it lol) and I got a exelent copy and I must say this is pretty awesome, though I think I can only record ful screen, is that true Guardian?

I spent years in college doing Video production and quit because I got in trouble with the police (silly me) I now wanna do something with my Video production skills, Im a good editor/camera op but rubbish at coming up with ideas

Anyone got any Ideas for me?

When I got camstudio on my laptop I'd say a year ago, it made it lag so bad it wouldn't shut down.

Yeah I removed it,
It didnt seem so good, but I suppose thats what you get for free.
