Plot
With no clue how he came to be imprisoned, drugged and tortured for 15 years. When released with no one to hold accountable for his suffering, a desperate businessman seeks revenge on his captors, relying on assistance from a friendly waitress. Korean director Chan Wook Park, a former philosophy student and Hitchcock devotee, uses his influences to create a mesmerizing psychological drama with a resolution that will leave you speechless.

Personal Thoughts
This movie will really hit you where you least expect it as you slowly discover the root of his 15 year imprisonment and sudden release. The pain and anger slowly turning into something completely different causing the viewer to question their own morality as the events unfold. I recommend watching this early to allow enough time to truly think about it after the credits roll.

Looks good I'll have to see if I can get it on Netflix. Btw in some scenes the main character looks a lot like a young Jackie Chan, was kinda distracting.

You're in luck DB. It is on Netflix and on streaming. Oh I just found out it's actually a part of a trilogy. Sympathy for Mr. Bengeance is first, then Oldboy and finally Sympathy for Lady Vengeance. All of them are on streaming on Netflix.

I don't believe they are related story wise. It's more about the related themes of revenge, violence and salvation.
