Re: SNES recommendations
Final Fantasy VI is one of the best RPGs out there. Pilotwings is a game that involves controlling planes, jetpacks, hanggliders, and parachutes. Most of the time, you go through rings, then land at a designated area for points. It's fun for awhile. I would also recommend Starfox, Street Fighter II, Mortal Kombat II, Yoshi's Island, ActRaiser, and Gradius III.

Pilotwings is like what ninjatiamat said. I brought it up because I loved it years ago when Snes was top of the line.
7Th Saga is in my opinion one of the best older RPGs ever made, it's also HARD. Like if you don't level up in new zones the monsters will destroy you. Once you get past that it's an awesome game.
Inindo is kinda rare, most people I ask have never heard of it. It's kinda in the same style as older final fantasy games. The battle screens look similar(except you can move around and people in the back row are really in the back, they can't be reached by physical attacks.) ect ect ;D
Romance of the three kingdoms is basically a micro management game, you have to build up your provinces and prepare to invade others, recruit generals ect.
Can't believe I forgot chrono trigger, play that for sure.
Actraiser and Gradius are also really cool too, worth trying.
Other games I think you should try;
Shadowrun- The Snes one is good, the Genesis one is considered better though. Play them both! :P
Uncharted Waters is also really cool, but it's not for everyone.
If I think of anymore I'll post them soon. If you want any more info about the ones I mentioned just ask me or go to Wikipedia.org, that site has just about every game you can imagine listed with desciptions and usually pictures you just have to type them in of course.
So... are you buying these or d/ling? Just curious since it's pretty hard to get Snes games nowdays.

Re: SNES recommendations
Civilization? I suggest just getting the newer PC versions if you really want to enjoy it. Unless you've never played it before then it might be good for practice.
More games;
TMNT - Turtles in Time
Super Ghouls and Ghosts
Sim City/Sim Ant/Sim Earth (if you like the sim games)
ShadowRun(you didn't include in your list, not sure if that was on purpose)
Uncharted Waters(same as above, I listed them before just wanna make sure you didn't forget)
Might and Magic
Mario Paint(not sure if this is possible for D/L)
AeroBiz(it's wierd, a business sim game, I loved it years ago.)
Oh and don't forget......
SHAQ FU If you haven't played it yet, try it, it's at least worth laughing at how horrible it is.

I'm surprised Super Metroid was never mentioned. If you ever feel like you need more games, you should
also check out Contra III: The Alien Wars, Soul Blazer, and F-Zero.

Wow, can't believe I forgot F-Zero.
We should all try to remember this topic in case this comes up again, we got a good list going.
Have fun with the games Squall, Tell us if you like any. I know I'm interested to hear.

I was thinking the same about super metroid!
Most kirby games are good (not sure if they are on the SNES) but most 1st party ones such as super mario world and LoZ: link to the past are my favourites
