SNES cartridge won't work

Everytime I try to play Donkey Kong Country on an actual SNES, the game starts up as normal, but after I select my file and mode of play, I get a blue screen saying

"This game will not work on a machine that makes unauthorized copies" (or something like that)

I have tried the game on a SNES and an FC Twin, which plays both NES and SNES. Any ideas why it's doing this?

Re: SNES cartridge won't work

Did it use to work? Did you just buy it? Someone could've made a copy and sold you it.

Re: SNES cartridge won't work

I've had it for a very long time, about 10 years or so, so I may need to replace the battery. How do I go about doing this?

Re: SNES cartridge won't work

It's really simple. I found this video and it's decent for a beginner. I work with circuit boards all day long at work so I'll add a few details.

1. The bit he is using is a 3.88 mm security bit.
2. I would desolder the prongs lose from the back of the board first before removing them from the CR2032.
3. Make sure you note the polarity of the battery when replacing it.
4. Solder the prongs back on the battery then back on the board. Electrical tape is for losers.
5. You can buy single packs of CR2032s at WalMart.
