Halloween 2010
It's mere days away now, and so here's a thread for general Halloween discussion:
I will kick it off by asking what you're planning to dress up as this year {whether trick or treating or going to an event} and so I'll go first.
This year I'm planning to be
Xemnas, from Kingdom Hearts {even though my hair isn't THAT gray yet.}
My new favorite scary movie is 'Bad Taste' - a story about Aliens who come to Earth to make Humans into menu items for their intergalactic fast food chain.

directed by Peter Jackson, who also plays a main character in the story. {or is it 2 characters?}
Anyhow, I have plans to take my daughter out trick or treating this year and I'm hoping to see lots of great Halloween displays at people's houses and of course all those awesome costumes!
How about you guys?

Actually maybe you guys could suggest something me and the wife could do that would be fun. Going to some random bar downtown is not an option.

Jeeze Tails, I think you should go out trick or treating as a comedian.

Re: Halloween 2010
I love Halloween. It's one of the coolest holidays of the year. Unfortunately, I can't dress up this year, but hopefully the day will be fun anyway.
@ Essie, are there any city functions or Halloween parties anywhere in your area?

Re: Halloween 2010
eh, it was always a bit annoying. Where I used to live there was ice on the sidewalk every year except once by this time of year. Now I am too old to really care, even though there is only like 2-3 weeks of snow where I live now. Last year, I just set up a TV in the near room and played n64 waiting for random people to come by.
I have plans for bowling (Saturday youth league)... Not really intentional. More so you don't dress up there tomorrow and the girls make you wear bunny ears for whatever reason... I don't want to dress up, any sort of costume I wear will wreck my throw.
Imo I like it but nothing interesting really happens, this year I have tons of friends unlike the last couple of years where my school was effed up beyond belief so I'll see what happens.

Re: Halloween 2010
SC13 Halloween suggestion:
You and your wife dress up as something like scarecrows or mannequins and incorporate yourselves into a display on your front porch and sit very still.
Then when the kids come to trick or treat, you wait until they come close to you guys and you can scare them out of their wits ...
{with a 'BOO!' or 'YAAHH!', or maybe even a 'BOO - YAH!' if you live on a military base}
That's something I've wanted to do for years but have always been busy taking my own kids out ... but it looks like it's an absolute BLAST!

I can't decide whether this is Madonna or Lady Ga Ga, so it must be ...
Lady Madon - Ga! {children at her feet, don't you wonder how she can make ends meet?}

Re: Halloween 2010
@WB, I'll check it out, it's a little bit segregated where I live and I'm not sure how welcome we'd be, but if we cover up real good it might be cool.
@JG, That might be fun but, we live in the last secure apt. of a dead end road, we won't see any kids. I could go down the road a little bit and get on someone elses property... or maybe just on the sidewalk somewhere.

Re: Halloween 2010
@ Steven - I'd suggest getting drunk and jumping on chat for Halloween. Guaranteed good time.
As for me, I've never been a huge fan of Halloween. It was fun in High School when I could go around throwing eggs and toilet paper, but now I'm just not that into it.
I always carve a pumpkin (peep my new avatar) and I'll buy plenty of candy for the neighborhood kids, but that's about it.

Really? Pretty much same here. Sadly I gotta work that night (better than Thanksgiving and Christmas right?), I was thinking of dressing up as Zeke from ZAMN, but I really didn't do anything with it yet. Probably won't in the end, lazy.

Re: Halloween 2010
FIREWORKS!!
Got some?
I have something similar to this:

... and although mine are just regular Canadian - approved fireworks {nothing that explodes} I think they should be fairly decent ... by Canadian standards, that is.
The trouble comes in finding a place to set them off - legally.
New regulations require that you pretty much have to go to a HUGE park or leave the city altogether to set off your fireworks, but that sure doesn't stop people - it's been nothing but bricks of mighty mites and assorted airbombs constantly for days now {although arguably real firecrackers are illegal so what does it matter where they set them off}

Sex in costume. The GF and I did it as Peter and Lois Griffin.
The novelity of Halloween has completely worn off. The last time I actually thought it was a big deal was when I was in college. I went to a party last weekend in costume, ended up watching Lesner get smacked down and ultimately forgot that I was in costume. Of course, once I have kids, I can't wait to take them out, then take all of their candy.

Re: Halloween 2010
Well all I am doing is sitting home handing out candy which has been odd so far as we have only had 3 kids come by so far. It's weird because last year we had over 200 come by.
I wonder what's up?

I'm in the same boat. What the Hell happened? Too much organized crime taking our children away I reckon.
