Celebrity Deaths, all times, Past and Present.

I read a post that was for news of recent celebrity deaths, so I decided to make one that spans all time periods. Of course, it should be a tragic death, not old age.
Two stick in my mind
Kurt Colbain shot himself
Dead (singer from Mayhem) cut his wrist and shot himself, the band members made necklaces out of pieces of his skull.

Re: Celebrity Deaths, all times, Past and Present.

I'm not sure if we need two topics but I can see this one being ok if we stick to deaths that had an impact and not just celebs or other people who are just noteworthy.

I'll mention a couple that I think were horrible loses for humanity-

Gandhi - He was one of those special people who was taken before his time. There was no good reason for his death and all the potential he had was wasted.

John Lennon - Same as Gandhi. Both shot by cowards with no real goal in mind, just some vague, moronic ideas and probably some mental issues.

Re: Celebrity Deaths, all times, Past and Present.

I don't really get upset when celebrities die, but two that had a pretty big impact on my lfie:

George Carlin. I will miss that man.

James Yancey AKA J Dilla. This man did more for hip hop than anyone will ever know. The fact that he is no longer out there making music makes this world a little less special. RIP

Uh no I didn't. If you want me to list every major death I can think of there would be nothing left for everyone else to post about, right?

Btw MLK jr was a big loss and his death had no meaning(besides racism or someone trying to silence him). He definitely had potential to do much more. Btw did anyone ever see that episode of The Boondocks where MLK never died? It was hilarious.

JFK was a bad death too but there's no telling what kind of impact he would've had if he lived. People fell in love with him but in reality he really didn't do much of anything in office besides dealing with the Missile crisis and the Bay of Pigs fiasco.

No I didn't. I admit Elvis was important early in his career but he wasn't important later in life and he died because he was an addict.

Re: Celebrity Deaths, all times, Past and Present.

King's death did cause alot of people to sympathise with African-Americans.

Kennedy established the Peace Corps.
And his killer's motive was to obtain attention from media.

That's true but don't forget that before his death he was already a living legend. Smart people loved him and ignorant people feared him. He changed the way people get things done, peaceful protest. He was a great person and he impacted more lives than any other American icon in recent history.

Which killer is that? Even if we believe it was Oswald we still don't know what the actual motive was.

Me too, because within his comedy was a lot of stark Truth.
(especially his last HBO special - he really nailed it)

When it comes to celebrities' deaths, I am reminded of that 'radio show' from GTA Vice City, where they are talking about how the songs they play are
'...special to you. And ( ? )million other people'

That sums up how I feel about most 'celebrities'; they are special only because they are shoved in our faces constantly.
If it weren't for that fact, I bet most of them would be forgotten by now.

LIKE ELVIS.
He wasn't that great a singer or entertainer, and as I write this his
'Blue Christmas' is playing in my head only because 'they' have played it
a google-plex since its creation.
Otherwise I don't think anyone would want to hear it, or many of his other songs in my opinion.
