Why would someone think Pokemon is better that Ocarina of Time, you can get bored with a Pokemon game, but Ocarina of time never gets old.

I have the opposite opinion. With over a minimum of 150 pokemon, the replay value of Pokemon defeats all others.

There is alot of replay value, but the battle system with four options, four moves, six pokemon and some items gets stale after 50 hours or so, especially in games like Diamond and Pearl which, unlike Platinum, do not have a battle frontier. I mostly raise pokemon for my cousin now, because I have ran out of things to do.

Also the only people selling their souls for exp or living girlfriendless in the basement are the same people who end up as crackheads, addictive personalities.

Haha. Of course, there are exceptions. But me and cliches? Always. No girlfriend, in mom's basement, acne-riddled face with broken, big-framed glasses, while wearing a black Snuggie.
Nah, MMO's aren't that bad, it just seems useless. There's always going to be someone better than you, someone worse, more grinding, more time wasted. I mean, I don't think standard video games are the best things to use time for, but MMO's? Maybe I just haven't played the right ones.

I think that's the problem. Before I played FFXI I was of the same opinion. Once my friends started playing it I tried it and fell in love instantly.
That was my first time playing a game that let you exsist along side other real players. You could run through a zone/level and find random people doing random things almost every time. No offline RPG comes close to the level of replay a MMORPG has. Besides that there's the community you become a part of. I miss running through town and seeing old friends going about their business as usual or meeting new players who need help. Now when I play a normal RPG I get bored easy from the linear repetition.
That being said you have to find the right MMORPG or it won't work like that. I've tried a few others and most have been failures. Anything that is heavy on instances is automatically boring to me. I like a constant game world where players can interact randomly.
Sorry to go offtopic.
I used to play Monster Rancher on PS1 or 2 and I loved it but I never got into Pokemon. I guess I never liked it because of the characters all being like 10 years old and the pokemon look too cutesy, even the evil/bad/whatever pokemon. The only time I liked Pokemon is during Brawl, the items are cool and Pokemon Trainer is fun to play.

Re: Pokemon Gold and Silver Remake?
Pokemon Trainer should of just been named Red, they look EXACTLY alike.
 - Red from Red/Blue/Green/Yellow
 - Red in remakes
 - Red in brawl
So to me, he is Red. too bad it isn't Pika, Poli, and Saur as his team I understand it though, Green/Red/Blue's poke's given by Oak though.

Re: Pokemon Gold and Silver Remake?
I made a topic about that ages ago. I dunno where it fell to, but it's very old news.
