Similar to Golden Axe, with a Centaur girl...

Yes, it was a coin-op with a Centaur girl who used a staff as a weapon, (she reminds me of Gabrielle from the TV series Xena) and the graphics were more advanced than those of Golden Axe if I recall correctly.

The gameplay was so similar to Golden Axe that I was convinced it was a sequel.
Oh how I miss the Centaur girl...

Well she has normal human breasts so it's not much of stretch to say she is similar in other ways. I wonder what the front of her outfit is covering?

Now that you mention it, have you guys noticed...

in GARDA when you play as Dora and you come across the first enemy riding a monster mantis, you can knock him off the mantis, and then a sign reading 'ride' starts flashing above the mantis.

Here a startling metamorphosis occurs.
As she goes to mount the monster mantis, her hind quarters (horse half) vanishes and she spontaneously sprouts human legs, 'Little Mermaid' style !

Well neither are it's goodies, but she still has them up front anyway. I imagine it would be much more awkward if a horse's genitals where on it's front though
