how do i use game genie

i tried putuing in game genie codesfor snes game like tiny toons and the addams family but everytime i put the code in nothing happens and my cheat code things is already on enable

For SNES
Select ArcadeOX Full Mode.
Click Cheat
Make sure Apply Cheat is checked
Click Game Genie
In the box that says "Enter Cheat Code:" type the game genie code.
In the box that says "Cheat Description" type a description. This is just for your own reference it can be anything. Description is optional.
Click Add.
Check the box in the top left that appears next to your new cheat code.
Click OK.
Some Game Genie codes will require that you also click File > Reset Game.
