Yeah, me and Gamenguru are from an entertainment family (music, acting, some t.v. stuff, etc.). We don't go into it a whole lot here (for reasons that might be easy to guess).
Anywho, no I didn't see that. What was weird, though is that he did everything in the service: he led the music, he did the sermon, but he also took the offering plate around to every row himself I guess so he could make sure no one would take any of the bling. He also would call out people in the crowd who would try to leave during the service. Like say someone got up to go to the bathroom or whatever. He would be like, "sir! You need to sit back down while I am speaking." Crazy dude! Also, his daughter was a brat, but that's another story. Altogether, a weird experience. I wanted to see people fly across the room, but I didn't.

Re: Chuck Norris
Yeah I went to one of his services when he came to Denver. The week before he came, I seen something on tv about him, and how he is a scammer. It was pretty crazy to see it in person after watching that. I noticed when the tray was going around they came with envelopes, and on each one was a money amount. It started at 10,000 dollars up to 100,000 dollars. On top of that there was a muslim couple there who was trying to convert to christianity. Hinn actually said it would take 50,000 dollars to wash the islam sins away. It actually made me very sad, especially when the couple gave up the money to him.
Here is a clip of the "Fire"

Yes. It is very sad indeed. I think it's a shame when people use spirituality/religion to prey on innocent. Regardless of people's feelings about religion in general, I know a lot of people in them who really do sincerely care about people and want to help them. It's a shame that some people like the Hinn can seriously hurt a lot of people and give many peeps a bad taste about religious people in general.
Actually I prefer Benny Hill to Benny Hinn.

Indeed. Like I said, Benny Hill can make you laugh and fall down too, but he had hot chicks in his show.
It is a shame, though. I don't know a whole lot about Chuck Norris personally, but I have a feeling that he doesn't push people over. He just knocks them over with his kicks.

Yes he is, and as Walker Texas Ranger, he helped people without asking for anything in return.

Re: Chuck Norris
I hear people always saying "What if Bruce Lee was alive today?". I think if Bruce Lee was alive today he wouldn't have made such a great impact on peoples lives. Don't get me wrong I like Bruce Lee and all but I am just saying it wouldn't be that great. There would be a impact but not as big if he didn't die. As for Chuck Norris, he is a great guy, I still wish Walker, Texas Ranger was on the air ( I mean new episodes and such) instead of reruns. BRUCE LEE FOREVER!!

You both are wrong, Bruce Lee died because of a brain edema caused by pain medication.

I don't agree. I think Bruce Lee was a great person cut down before his time. He did a lot of good things and he was constantly looking to improve himself.

I agree, he was a phenomenal being way before his time. He is one of my biggest idols. But kinda like Tupac, and Notorious BIG, their death had a bigger influence then when alive.

Re: Chuck Norris
Again I disagree. I don't think his death boosted his fame really. He was already bigtime before he died. He's at least partly responsible for bringing asian culture back into american lives and making martial arts popular over here. Even the president(or ceo, w/e) of UFC said "without Bruce Lee there would be no MMA).
I also disagree with the biggie/tupac thing. They were already icons before thier deaths. Now if you said Heath Ledger I'd tend to agree since he wasn't all that cool until The Dark Knight(unless you count Broke Back, I don't).

Re: Chuck Norris
I know he brought tons of stuff to light. I talked about it a couple times in the MMA thread. But there was a 2 hour special "How Bruce Lee changed the world" where they talk about this specifically. The change of the Asian world was huge after his death, which was not there when he was alive...as well as in America. For the most part he was not even respected by most. In his time racism was still a big issue. Remember the Green Hornet. Lee was no where near as famous when he was alive.
Tupac's death was huge in America. Books, films, plays, and even college classes have come about due to his death, He has sold more records after his death then when he was alive. IMO his death had a way bigger impact on people then when he was alive.
That's funny...I was actually going to say ledger, among a couple others. But I feel most pioneers are not appreciated like they should be until they die.

Yeah I can see your points, I just don't wanna take away from the lives of these people by saying thier deaths made them more important.

Re: Chuck Norris
Yeah, I think what happens sometimes is, no matter how influential the person was while alive, when they die people suddenly take notice of their work when maybe they would have ignored this otherwise.
This has been happening for ages (even before our current celebrity worshiping culture we live in today). Look at how artists paintings, sculptures, etc. suddenly go way up in value when the artist dies. Some of them like Rembrandt, Van Gogh didn't really even get appreciated very much while they were alive which I find sad somehow.
In the case of Bruce Lee I think he had reached a point where he was already very famous and influential. His film career aside, he created a martial art, wrote several books (I have read a couple which were good), and he was a pioneer in health & fitness. However, I think his untimely death brought him a level of immortality (I know that's an oxymoron, but what can you do?) that he might not have achieved until later. He was an amazing person, though, whose life has almost taken on mythic proportions today.
