Yeah, I'm kind of the same way. I like Atlantis, but it sort of got away from the mythology and history and did its own thing. It's still decent for a show in its genre, but I think it rarely reaches the level of SG-1. There were some good crossover episodes, though. Yeah, I think the are going to do another SG-1 movie pretty soon. Did you see the first two SG-1 movies?

I think they just liked to punish humans because they were naughty little beasties.

Stargate is indeed a classic. Good stuff that. Lot's of fun and taps into history and mythology too.

No the two SG-1 movies were follow ups to the T.V. series. The series went for 10 years, then they did two movies. They are supposed to do a third one soon. Also, there was a spin off T.V. show that went 5 more years and a new third T.V. show is starting this year.

Oh. I see what you mean now. Yes, the original Stargate started the franchise. Then SG-1 was a sequel to the movie. Then Atlantis was a spin off of Atlantis. Then the SG-1 movies were a sequel to the SG-1 show. Then the new series Stargate Universe is kind of a continuation of the franchise (I hope).

Re: Aliens, out to kill or out to save?

They're making that new show stargate universe but I'm not holding my breath, I'll watch it either way though. It has Lou Diamond Philipps so I'm wary.

About the topic, why do the aliens always need a motive? Maybe one day they'll just stumble upon us and we'll all be friends.

Yeah. I hope it's good, but some of the things I have heard make me a bit hesitant to watch it.

Along those lines, I have a new question for everyone:

If aliens did land, what do you think the reaction would be from most of the people of Earth? Would they react with fear and attack the aliens? Would they embrace them with open arms? Would the religious people feel threatened or try to somehow fit the existence of aliens into their beliefs? Would the Government try to suppress the aliens and try to convince the people of Earth that it was a hoax? has something like this already happened?

Well IMO if aliens landed humans would have ZERO chance to defeat or supress them. The reason I say that is they would have the technology to simply blow up our planet with ease. Once one can travel the speed of light the possibilities are endless....even time travel....so theoretically they can fight, and if they lose they start over with endless continues basically. Or theoretically they can create a singularity within our galaxy etc...I feel humans wold embrace with open arms for the most part, I think the religious state would fall to the ground. If it happened before I would have to say the evidence is all washed up or is very well hidden, or maybe just maybe they were here before most species on earth became extinct.

But also even if one was to go the speed of light, time travel would be neccisary to reach Earth from lets say Andromeda. The reason I say that is it would take 2.5 million years to travel between the two IF traveling at speed of light. The technology would have to be amazing. Theoretically its possible, but there are tons of paradox's. Man it would be great tho.

Apropos of STARGÅTE: Did you know that that lambda with an ring perched ontop is almost an "å/Å" which is an Swedish letter?

So STARGÅTE is supposed be pronounce something akin to how an Englishman would pronounce "star goat".

Also, the word "gåte/gåta/gåde" in Norwegian/Swedish/Danish languages means "riddle".

Yeah, ain't it? I almost laughted my butt off when I saw it the first time around. You silly americans!

Oh, and yes: Using "heavy metal umlauts" changes the pronunciation of the word. But Häagen-Daz isn't anywhere near an "authentic" Scandinavian word, by the way.

Mötley Crue.

Re: Aliens, out to kill or out to save?

Nassim Haramein (creator of the NEW unified theory) had some interesting things to say regarding a crop circle written in ASCII which is a message from a SILICON-based life form.
Credo Mutwa (African Shaman) says the African people are no strangers to what Westerners call 'aliens', and revealed a lot of things which made A LOT more sense to me than what the TV specials with spooky music and unanswered questions have to say about it.
For one thing, the 'Greys' are not grey at all, but pink.
It seems that Africans have seen these creatures many times without their clothes on, so to speak, as the children call them 'pinky pinky'.
The outer skin is actually a tight-fitting suit, and the large black eyes are in-built goggles which are part of that suit.
He says he knows since he has not only been present at the dissection (which must be done underground lest they find out and send the 'creatures of the terrible black cloth', A.K.A. the men in black- no joke) of one of these, but has also eaten their flesh, which gave him super-senses for a short time.
Also, once, he was abducted by aliens, and while aboard their 'ship', this is what he said happened.:
He was on top of a metal table, such as in an operating room, and there held immobile by an invisible force.
To his left stood a standard 'Grey' alien, and at his head stood what he described as a taller version of that creature with elongated fingers (extra joints) and a thumb in the middle of its wrist instead of to the side like ours.
I cannot relate the entire account due to our mixed audience here, but suffice it to say the small creature was taking samples of tissue from him and the larger one seemed to be supervising this procedure.
When this was done, he was given back control of his body and led around the ship for a tour, or so it would seem, and this is the most remarkable thing of all:
While being led around on this 'tour' of the ship, he was taken to where other people were undergoing the same procedure of tissue sampling, and this is where the story becomes amazing-
A man he described as a caucasian with a beard and moustache lay on the table, immobile and in agony as Credo had recently been, LOOKED DIRECTLY INTO CREDO'S EYES with an expression of crying out for help, but there was nothing Credo could do, as he was taken on past to see other things in the ship.
LATER ON after being returned to Earth, and some time after this incident, that same man spotted Credo whilst out walking one day, and fairly CHARGED over to him, yelling:
WHERE DO I KNOW YOU FROM? YOU HAD BETTER TELL ME!
Credo looked him in the eye as he began: "You were on a metal table...."
and the man nearly fell over, as if Credo had struck him with a fist, and with a terrible curse ran away.....

I encourage anyone interested to check out this vid on the net, just put in Credo Mutwa, and you should come up with this, although it is quite lengthy, grab a coffee and enjoy!
BTW, I do not think we should be afraid of them, since the NWO is a far more real and imminent threat than they are !
I cannot prove it to you, but I have observed 'more than meets the eye' myself in this life, and encourage you all to keep an open mind.

Re: Aliens, out to kill or out to save?

The story you just related sounds exactly like
Quote:
TV specials with spooky music and unanswered questions
Actually the gray skin tight suit thing is exactly the same story from the movie "A fire in the sky", supposedly based on real events.

Btw you should break up the wall of text. It's difficult to read like that.

Re: Aliens, out to kill or out to save?

I never got to see 'Fire in the Sky', (sounds mildly amusing) but the account I describe above is taken from a very dry video of Credo Mutwa talking in front of a camera, without even music or graphics, definitely not any big-budget production.

As I say, this gentleman is a Shaman in Africa, (around 70 years old), and the video was made in the late 80's or early 90's so the likelihood of him re-iterating a hollywood movie seems remote at best.
See it for yourself.

Dudebro,
Thanks for the heads up on the wall of text, (hey you're right !) too many years in school gets one used to seeing almost everything that way (to save paper) but here we have a choice to space it out.

I leave you by offering this:
If we are not interested in finding real answers, but are just having fun, then I ask to be excused.

Of course I know there is no definitive proof except maybe in AREA 51, but why would they tell us any truth if they can keep the NEAT TOYS to themselves.
It sure is fun thinking about it though.

Fire in the Sky.... sounds like Jim Morrison should sing it. heh heh heh.
