I decided to do the poll over,

I also decided to remove mascots

As awesome as those straight blocks are, there would be a certain loss of satisfaction upon having too many.

The game is programmed to count which pieces you are speed dropping and which ones you aren't. It "assumes" the ones you are speed dropping the least are the ones you're having the most problems with. It will slowly alter the block appearence percentage rate to favor blocks that take longer for you to fit.

Its a really clever idea on the designer's part but can be taken advantage of. Simply speed drop the pieces you dislike and never speed drop the 4-line tetris pieces.

Solid Snake is so badass... at least he was when the PS1 game came out, on the NES he sucked (the real original metal gear was on some Japanese home computer or something...)

You have a source for this info? I'm not calling you a liar but I'm surprised I've never heard of it before.

While looking for my source I realized a mistake in my post. The game doesn't count speed drops but rather moving a piece side to side.

I originally heard about the trick on a youtube video but have also seen it on GameFaqs.

edit2: i also just found out that that tetris offers more points per line in the later levels of the game, maybe that score isnt outta my league after all

Yeah somehow this whole thing seems doubtful. Maybe in the early versions but nowdays I'm sure they have better AI in place.

I'm sure if it is true, it only affects certain versions of the game. It may not be true in any version. It's certainly worth a shot to experiment with it though.

That is interesting. I have never tried this. I used to play Tetris in the arcade all the time, but I didn't know to look for this. It might be true.

I played the Tengen NES version and it is not using the random generator from that site. Tenser's trick might work. Sometimes it seemed to be doing it and sometimes not.
